A lot of places will "loan" you a pulley puller tool when you purchase a reduction pulley from them. Alta used to I think, and so did MiniMania, and Way still does. You'd be able to check with them before you buy your pulley and belt.

Also - if you're looking to just out-right rent one - Detroit Tuned has one for rent for $20 for like 2 weeks. LINKY

On the other hand, if a few of you know you're going to do it, you could always split the cost, and then "rent" it out to our other members.

And lastly for right now - I need to add a Mass Air Flow Sensor to the list of parts my MINI has gotten since I took her home. Kept getting a P2188 System too rich at idle CEL. I did some research, found a new Bosch MAF Sensor on Ebay (from a discount auto parts shop), for about $200. Which is better than half price from MINI...

And the problem that was almost a daily occurrence, hasn't come back for several days in the hot, muggy weather. My MINI feels like it did when I bought it again, and fuel mileage is back up. Wondering now if I need to do any kind of ECU reset / remap back to factory to let it take care of adjustments from there.

Thoughts on the factory ECU adjustments?

When you go to check out with this rental it jacks the price to $110

The last thing I knew Bavauto didn't sell a pulley tool for the R53. That might have changed so Austen needs to find out.

I think CravenSpeed makes a pulley puller for like $70.

Way also has a pulley puller for $70.

You should be fine with just clearing the store fault codes and driving it. No adjustments needed.

I figured as much - just didn't know how much bad "adjusting" or "learning" the ECU would have stored. Is that something that I could fix by disconnecting the battery for a long while?

Like I said - it drives like a champ again, so I'm not too worried, but if there are ponies hidden away somewhere, I'd like to have them back. LOL

Disconnecting the battery doesn't do anything for the fault codes or learning.

I would just clear the stored codes and drive it.

Is anyone up for the Wednesday night Ice Cream down in Lowell? Or does anyone know if it's going on this week? Since no work on Thursday and well since the gym closes at 3 pm (for what stupid reason...I don't know) but the wife, son and I are up for the meet up.

These are actually just the OEM Mini emblems that Sewell takes to a local company and has them do the "painting." I asked all about these emblems when I was looking for black ones for mine. Like you guys I refused to spend the $235 for them. Plus there is a company called Carbon Mini that has carbon fiber overlays for about the same price.

So what I ended up doing was talking to a painter, order the OEM front, rear emblems, as well as the Cooper S for the boot and had them painted absolute black to match the R60. Now for the R60, the front emblem was only like $18 and the rear was $27 or something around there and the guy painting them charged me $100 for all of them and that was doing the absolute black and the S in spice orange. It's a lot cheaper and nicer having them painted to match.

Here is the link to the OEM emblems...look into it...it's worth doing it on your own... http://mini.sewellparts.com/accessor...2009/4890.html

Well that explains why I can't find a MINI part number.

I was thinking about having the chrome emblems painted when I have the bonnet scoop and boot lid trim painted Jet Black.

Hey Ryan do you have anymore of those syringes that you gave me? I broke it :(
