I was at home building our club web page while you guys are out playing with cones, what dedication! Also washed and detailed the Cooper S. I'm planning to just do the Verizon events this summer - too tapped out.
That is smoking hot 10th overall! I'll have to scoop up the link for the results and drop them on the Club page. Way to go Jason.
Yes, of course totally forgot the British Invasion at Stowe. See, that's why we need other members to keep me in line.

Hi Dave, yeah something good to plan for next season. We can have it as a sub-club under the BMWCCA green mountain chapter. Looks like the BMWCCA guys want to autocross again and have it on the schedule for the whole season.
I just picked up a set of slightly used 15x6.5" steel rims and Blizzak Revos in the 195/60-15 size for this winter from a friend that has a 2006 R53. Now I've got a set of dedicated winter rims, set of summer rims (original R85 S-lites) and now I can use my BBS R90s as track rims! So, rather than investing in snow tires this winter I'll be getting some proper track tires for next season.
I had Adam over at www.finishsolutionsvt.com media blast the steel rims, epoxy paint them black and then he painted the front silver with clear. They came out awesome!

This should keep the nasty gnarly Vermont winter at bay!
Epoxy painted black, silver and clear coated steel winter rims.
I was also planning to shoot them with a light coating of Waxoyl 120-4 clear around the wheel weights and where the steel rim is welded on the backside.

Good pick-up! I bought my last set of rims on Craigslist, almost perfect for $130 (!) and used them for the RS-2's I bought on closeout from Tire Rack, keeping the Wintersports on the non-OEM 18-spokes ones that were on the car when I got it (~4# difference per wheel!)...
Aleady getting ready for Spring: picked up a 19mm rear sway bar from Alta (50% off sale - and it's red), and a set of Hotchkiss Sport springs on the marketplace here - trying to get the suspension caught back up to the engine ...
I'll post the info about the club on a couple of other threads here, try to drum up some more MINI's !

Hi there! As you probably read above, we're going to be working on a thing w/ the BMWCCA for MINI-type events - a few of us belong to the Sports Car Club of Vermont (sccv.org); we run AutoX events at Stowe at least 4 times a year, though currently we're working on Ice Time Trial events (froxen lakes and bays). You may also want to get ahold of the SCCNH, not sure what they've got planned for events, other than they're a "partner" club w/ us in the New England Hillclimb Association.
Any ideas (or questions) you have, feel free to post up! With us being sorta Burlington-based it's quite a hike for you guys here or us guys there, but ???
And if you haven't already, put the British Invasion car show on your calender - Sept 17-19, 2010, http://www.britishinvasion.com/index.html - largest all-British car show east of the Mississippi, a lot of MINI's (myself included) show up for that - either to show or just show-up ...
