MINI JCW Team...
#51
Yeah, I understand how things work....been that way for years. But, of course, when a new team emerges it takes time for the rules makers to figure out what is "fair". With the technology these days it's harder I suppose to level the playing field since in olden days it simply got down to
cubic inches, carburation, etc.
I remember back in the 1990's how BMW was always behind the eight ball due to weight being added to the PTG M3's....it really screwed the success of those team cars!
Hopefully, the JCW Race Team cars will be more competetive this year, because if they aren't it'll be due to unfair application of the rules! No reason all the cars can't be within a certain HP/# of weight, etc.
Btw, on IMSA.com you can also monitor driver & team standings.

Nice write-up on the minijcwteam.com website about Daytona. Apparently (and as I feared) the MINI's were tossed about by competitors quite a bit during the race, but apparently the team felt they "had the speed" to stay with other cars in the ST Class!
So, on to Sebring with better results hopefully!....they sure have more room there to maneuver and it's not a banked oval, so the handling of the MINI's should help them be more competitive.

Posted practice 1 results here: http://miniracefan.com/2016/03/16/se...ice-1-results/
19th fastest time for the entire field or just in the ST class? If the latter, not so good!

Yeah the Porsche dominance is starting to get annoying. It's no wonder they make up a sizable portion of the field. I wouldn't be surprised if IMSA did some BOP changes after this race.

Qualifying is over and all three cars put up faster times! Car #37 qualified 11th, much better than practice. Check out the full results here: http://miniracefan.com/2016/03/17/se...fying-results/
