If we end up short, which is unlikely, I would take care of the rest and have you fellas pay me through paypal.

Just a suggestion.

That sounds fair to me! $475/person

Let's make this happen!
Sharo, you have certainly seemed to "grabbed the baton" on this one and make it happen. I would be comfortable if any remaining amount of $475/each was split between Jan and yourself for all the effort put into this. Unless, of course, there is another person doing leg work here that I am missing.

Everyone, give your thoughts on this, please...

Thank you fellas, however I don't think it will be necessary. I'm just glad that we can get this thing going and get our tune.

So it seems as though I have to do my tune on a Friday session since my car is still in the shop trying to fix a vacuum leak.

I can't believe this had to fall right on this weekend since we have been planning this thing forever it seems.

I will be there on Thursday but unfortunately won't have my car ready, therefore I would have to make it on a Friday session. I will make sure that the timing won't infringe on anyone else and specially people coming from long distance and that have a set time. So no worries there.

As it is we had 10 people on Thursday and only 8 on Friday. With me jumping in on a Friday it makes it even with 9 on each day.

I apologize for this since I didn't expect my car to not be ready. The part has to be ordered and won't get here till Thursday afternoon and the shop has to get it done that night so I can have the car for Friday without hopefully any problems.

Thanks again
Sharo

It's ok, this way we have balanced/even numbers for both days with 9 each. Thanks anyways.

Hmmm, you're making me nervous... vacuum leak? Is that something I can check my self? I didn't take mine to the shop, it only has 12,000 miles and upon visual inspection myself, the belt looks brand new and the spark plugs and air filter look fine as well.

Edit: Never mind, just had it smogged last week, check the service paper and they checked the vacum, all is good.

SharoCO2 I know what you mean. My car's in the shop today, bad starter and a cracked valve cover. Hope they get it done today, but as long as it starts I'll be there.

Dinan of Morgan Hill had the smoke diagnosis looking for the leak and this is what they found:

"leak if from your Evap leak diagnostic pump that connects from the charcoal filter element in your engine bay to your exhaust. The replacement pump was special ordered for 120 cost to you through Mini of Mountain View today and it will be delivered on Thursday."

I'm crossing my fingers that it will be ready on Thursday afternoon.

It turns out that I have a meeting now re-scheduled for the afternoon tomorrow, so I will need to be finished with the tune and out by 1:30 PM at the latest. I still plan to arrive early (hopefully by 7:30 AM), so hopefully I can myself out of the rest the Tuesday attendees' way. I apologize if this causes any convenience for anyone in the Tuesday crew.

On the bright side, now it looks like I may be able to attend the dinner event on Santana Row, if that is still happening.

Here's hoping all the cars in the shops are good to go by Friday at the latest, and looking forward to seeing y'all tomorrow.

No live updates...

but I'm back at home... Had to deal with kids.... It's a dynopak, and the guys at the shop are pretty nice. Helping out tons. One car couldn't be tuned because of a slipping belt and no time to fix it before his car turned back into a pumpkin. Sharo is taking notes about increases, but I haven't seen them all. I'll be going back later to see how the day winds up.... I'm sure there will be postings after people make it back home. Each participant is leaving with a before/after plot....

my # ended up at 196 HP 175 TQ, but Jan did not seem to be happy about it. My car drives dyno's nuts. It's the automatic, it keeps shifting up at 6400 rpms, So the he said the numbers are low because of the rpms. If the car shifted at 6900 or 7000 the HP would be alot higher. So we will try again later when he has a chance to look in to programing of the tranny.

I have an Auto as well, so I guess I have that to look forward to.. what gear do you dyno at? I'll try driving my car tomorrow to see if I can get it to not shift at 6400 rpm in manual mode. What year is your car Checkers?
