It's in the owners mothers garage ,when I told her it was nice she said her son was selling it .I have not seen it lately , it might be gone.It looked perfect I dont know how it ran .

Back to the list ,I had a Datsun B-210 in high school that should have made the list ,it could'nt go over 55 MPH and had a hard time going up hills .

Stolen from another thread, here is a Pinto at a car show. For the time, the small bumper Pintos were kinda neat. Just p.o.s. x 10.

Sorry to hit chevy so hard, but I would think the Aveo would be included in any ugly car competition! And for many of the same reasons, I think the Honda Fit is a pretty homely auto! One the other hand, I saw an Audi wagon yesterday and it looked for all the world like I imagine the Clubman will look. Kinda interesting, I thought! Just my $.02!

Ah, jeez. The Corvair was my first car. Lil Red wasn't homely then, and she isn't homely now. I went to the Harold LeMay car show up here in Tacoma yesterday, and saw beautifully maintained Corvairs. They are very retro, and hold their looks well. Ralph Nader was a s*** on this car.

Also, the Pinto is a hoot. My Dad had an orange/beige 72 Pinto Station Wagon and drove the heck out of it all over North Texas. I loved that little wagon.

It's all a matter of perspective.

By the way, after spending hours yesterday ogling classics of old at the LeMay show, I came back to Tawanda and told her, "Hey, girl, you will age every bit as gracefully as the T-Birds, Packards, Studebakers, Mercedes, etc. I saw today."
She went out of her way yesterday to give me motor thrills

It's all a matter of perspective One person's trash is another's gold and maybe they think MINIs are trash and PT Cruisers are gold

BTW, thats not my opinion, just trying to see the situation from outside the box.
Of course it's all about opinions.

That's why I started with the two words, "I think".

And imagine that... you bringing up the point that some people might not like MINIs.

My first car was an Opel Kadett SW. It was gold and ran really well. My dad used to drive it to Indian River Inlet, Delaware to go surf fishing on the weekends. He even slept in the back. I got the Dodge Dart then.

Korby, maybe these pics will help you recall the Chevette...

From this website: http://www.dieselchevettes.com/chevette_diesel_gt.htm

The 2-door hatchbacks (3-dr I guess) were pretty decent visually, and they were inexpensive, and good in traffic.

I think K-cars and any of the traditional stuff from GM, Ford, and Mopar in the late 70's were far uglier and less interesting than most of the cars on the list.

Wow, my Mom had 2 Pintos (one actually got stolen) both were a bad shade of brown- she then replaced the last Pinto with the new version-called the Escort, she now drives a prius-not the best taste in cars.(sorry Mom). I think it's pretty funny that AMC got 3 on the list-remember when the paid to get in a Bond film thinking it would help-NOPE!

Aztec-should be #1 "designed by comittee" has never been more obvious. I saw an add for one of these that had an optional tent attached to the rear hatch-it looked better with the tent!

I'm really suprised no one has mentioned a Honda Element. The first time I ever saw one, I thought it was one of the butt ugliest vehicles I had ever saw. But, this year when Honda came out with the Element SC "sport coupe", my mind quickly changed. It's still a box, but a sporty box thats painted all one color. Its lowered with a sport suspension, riding on 18 inch wheels w/low profile tires. Heck, I liked it so much I bought one.
