Gag. I don't like it. It's so small! Look how big the guy is in the driver's seat!
Is this supposed to appeal to the luxury Rav4 crowd?

It's hard to tell from the photo, but I'm going to guess that this is more of a "sport wagon" than an SUV, more along the lines of the Audi Allroad that someone else mentioned.

I think it's a great thing... sort of like an SUV, but they don't block out the sun when you're next to one in traffic...

How big is it? Seems smaller than a CRV or Escape.

I like it, but would not buy it. I think BMW is a great CAR manufacturer that doesn´t need to get into SUVs.

This just reinforces my opinion that the Murano and its Infiniti opposite number represent the best in the SUV class and hopefully will mark the end of the truck based SUV market.

Don't take that the wrong way....I just don't like those little SUVs. From the design it looks like it should be alot bigger than it is...but then the guy in the drivers seat shows how small it is.

I like it very much, especially the 4th pic down. it's only supposed to be slightly smaller than the X5, kinda how the Lincoln Aviator is only slightly smaller than the Navigator.

It looks better than when it first appeared in Automobile magazine. The interior is also pretty nice. Put a 3.3l in this and it will fly

I would never get one myself, and I am frequently guilty of SUV bashing, but if you have to go SUV, at least the X3 would appear to be more reasonable. I would assume being small it would handle better, and thus be more deserving of the name 'Sport' Utility Vehicle. Most so-called 'SUVs' have nothing sporting to them whatsoever, they are really only utility trucks, no matter what their owners want to believe.
The X3 being small and presumably more sporting, I would also assume that it would do much better in the active safety department, and thus be a much safer vehicle than the large utilitarian trucks.

This is my wife's ride - with the seats down, it can carry alot of stuff, suitcases, whatever. It's quick, good ground clearance and she feels very safe in it - that is my main concern. She loves Volvos, and this is her fave to date.

I had no idea an X3 was even coming out...make sense, gotta compete with the Freelander...

Yeah, but a lot of people think hunting is a sport, too. Give the animals guns; THEN it's a sport!
