Ok.. this will include cars that I bought but never actually drove

1967 VW Beetle (given to me as a project car in 1986 when I was 15 - needed more work than I could handle at that age - never drove)
1980 Ford Grenada (got for free at the age of 16 - couldn't fix - never drove)
1980 Chevy Chevette (I think it was a 1980 - Bought for $50 from neighbor at the age of 16 - tried to fix it, made it worse.. sold for $75)
1978 Chevy Malibu Classic Wagon (got this when my mom bought a new car. drove it for a number of years. powerfull V8 in that one... lots of good times in that car... ah.. the teenage years!)
1977 Chevy Camaro (Bought it when I was 19 - fixed it up and drove for a few years)
1980 VW Dasher (Bought for $100 and took it to college. Had a zillion rediculous problems)
1974 Volvo 164 E (got for free from a friend.. started to fix up and then sold it before driving it)
1973 Porsche 914 (had been sitting in a garage for 10 years. Spent a summer fixing it up and then drove it for 2 years. Great fun.. but developed too much rust.. so I sold it)
1986 Golf (not much to say.. fun car)
1987 Jetta (same as above)
1992 Jetta (same as above)
2004 MINI Cooper S - This one should explain itself! My first new car purchase!)

First to most recent, certainly not the last.

'67 Pontiac Catalina convertable. dad got it for me, sled, boat. A lady killer at 16
'73 Vega GT. new, silver w/black racing stripe, woohoo fun car until it started to use oil
'68 Pontiac Lemans. POS, nuf said
'59 Cadillac black hearse mobile, big fins, I couldn't resist. Leaked water on the way home, discovered warpped block and cracked heads. It sat for years, then somebody couldn't live without it.
'67 MGB:smile: fun car, tinkerer's delight, I didn't want to tinker at the time. It never really ran right.
'62 Chevy station wagon $200.00, shock mounts where rusted away in the rear. Held about 50 people though. Left it sit somewhere.
'68 Olds Delmont w/455. Fast in a straight line. Turned 21 in this car. Lots of spilled beer and puke in this one, EWWWW
'72 Olds Toronado w/455. Like driving a Lazy Boy w/wheels across country. Paid $250.00
'87 Toyota P/U. great truck but too small and 2WD
'90 Ford P/U 351 and 4WD, loaded. Loved that truck, got stolen
'98 Chevy Metro. No choice, I had an awful commute. My current daily driver. It gets amazing mileage. Still have it.
'01 Honda S2000. A blast to drive. 19k miles. Wanna get rid of it for a MINI, wife thinks I'm nuts. I want a fun daily driver.
'04 Mazda 6. The family cruiser. Nice car, really. It likes to go 90MPH. Crappy in the snow, though.

Bikes in case you're interested:

1971 Honda CB175

1978 Honda 750 Supersport
2000 Aprilia RSV Mille
2000 BMW R1200c Euro

1996 BMW R1100RTL
2002 Aprilia SR50
2004 BMW R1100S

I bought my first car at 18 twelve years ago. Not sure why I bought all the POSs from the 70s and 80s, I think I just have a car buying problem . I was averaging about 1 car every 6 months for a while, and had at least 4 or 5 for no reason for the better part of 5 or so years.

Now someone needs to tally all the different cars listed and figure out the most popular previous car for current Mini owners

Wow! Some really great lists here. I don't change cars nearly as often as most folks so my list is fairly short.

Current cars:

1991 Miata base model - I will probably own this until I die. Dropped 1.5" with Eibach springs and Koni shocks, 15x7" Panasport wheels, 120hp at the wheels from 97 cubic inches. More mods than space to list.
2004 MINI Cooper S+ Totally fun! 11.2 lb Volk Racing wheels, lowered with H-Sport springs, H-Sport competition rear sway bar, weighs in at 2525lbs with lots of performance additions. Dyno test to come.
2001 Camaro SS - The wife's car. A very good "girl's car" with a 6-speed and 353ft/lbs at the rear wheels. Lowered 1.5", relocated trailing arms, long-tube headers, and MTI airbox with bottom breather air pickup, LS1-Edit computer tuned by MTI of Houston.

Past new cars:

1985 Toyota Supra - The "bolt-on special" Was there any part of this car that was coordinated with any other design group? The only reason I bought the car is that it was less that 1k more than a Honda CRX at the time.
1995 Camaro Z28 -6-speed Black on black on black. Wife's car. Slammed 2" with 17" OZ rims from day one. Bad to the bone. Good "girl's car' with lots of torque and no need to rev the engine or downshift.

Used cars

1967 MGBGT Great experience restoring this one with lots of help from my wonderful older brother. I had the opportunity to give him a Miata that I restored a few years ago as a "thank you" to complete the cycle. It was a great MGB with a "hatchback full of oversteer".
1971 Ford Pinto (High school hand me down from my father) My father once stated that his '63 Falcon 6cyl was the "best handling car he had ever driven". Enough said.
1978 Mercury Capri (hand me down from my father) Biggest P.O.S. ever known to mankind. The classic and definitive vehicle of the plaid and stipe over 70 crowd. Once beaten in a drag race by a U-Haul truck (the big one with the exposed driveshaft) while redline speedshifting.
1929 Model A Highboy Coupe - Full-house Edlelbrock equipped '53 flathead with 3 Stromberg 97s, T-10 4 speed box, Smithy glasspacks, '35 Ford wires, and flat black paint. Sold to a good friend of mine. Long may she run.
1957 Ford Thunderbird. Very rare 312 "big valve" engine with a 3-speed manual transmission. Raped and nearly destroyed by a "christian" restorer who promised a full 100 point perfect restoration, but spent almost as much time painting murals of jesus on his trucks as he did in prison after I and a few other folks got through with him. I'm planning on resto-rodding the remains when I retire.

Future Cars

2005 Mazda 3 5-door (wife's car awaiting delivery. Will replace the Camaro SS)
2005 Lotus Elise (my chrome orange, sport package toy, awaiting delivery. Planning on modifying to a great extent to eliminate the "Pokemon" appearance.)
1932 Ford I will keep this as far away from any "fraud restorer" as possible. Open to any body style, but prefer the looks of the 5-window coupe. Edsel Ford knew what he was doing when he designed this year's Fords.
