Another short list - so short, I'll add motorcycles to flesh it out some.

Let's see:

1979 Honda CB650 (Brand new, had 2 wheels before I had 4)
1975 Olds 88 convertible, blue/white
1976 Fiat 126 (Euro spec)
1978 BMW 316 coupe, (Euro) upgraded to 2.0l
198? Datsun B210 - traded 4 days later for:
1985 Camaro Z-28, red, loaded
1988 Ford Escort GT (New)
1992 BMW 318is (New)
198? Kawasaki LTD 1000 Custom
1978 Opel Kadett (Euro - Most assuredly NOT new)
1982 Nissan Sunny (Euro)
1991 Kawasaki Zephyr 750 (New)
199? Ford Escort EXP
1977 Cutlass Supreme Dakotan
199? Suzuki Samurai
1992 Jeep Wrangler (Bought New - still have it)
1992 Suzuki VX800
1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Turbo (New)
1998 Suzuki Sidekick (New)
1999 Subaru Forester (New)
2003 Honda Pilot (New, still have it)
2002 Honda 919 Asphalt (Still have it)
2004 MCS DS/B (Still have it, of course!)

I think that's it. . .no exotics, but some fun buggies. . .

My short list for my short life (so far)

Hand me down...
1997 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer - the most anonymous car in history- everywhere I went there were 3 with the same color (black and tan)

My REAL first car
2000 Saab 9^3 - safe, pretty fun, and pretty well tricked out. I had a carbon fiber dash, gearshift, wheel caps (maybe 6" wide), exhaust tip, and steering wheel (she was black, too)

I own today...
1977 Corvette L-82 - Ebony. My black beauty.
Domenico - this car is awesome to own! It's almost doubled in value since I bought it!

2003 MCS - Red Sonja - fast enough to beat my friend's 400hp EVO 8 around Streets of Willow Springs racetrack. CR/B - I love this little hottie

Next car - 2001 Corvette Z06 - she'll be black too
Next month - 2002 Suzuki SV650 - I can't decide if I want a black one or not Red, blue, or black - whichever one's cheapest

Wow...This list is going to be embarassing...and short - so you get a story with each one:

1980 Chevy Monza (Bought in 1988. The college car. Terrible car with a bad headliner...but it was black with maroon interior and fit my goth image...died a slow, painful death. Gladly driven to the junkyard. Last thing I did was kick it. Hard. It broke my toe.)

1980 VW Dasher (Bought in 1990. The first post-college car. 10 years old, built like a tank, drove like a truck, had the requisite VW electrical problems. Had to jump from the car once due to the flames coming from the fuse box. Fixed that and drove her some more. Died from a slow oil leak, siezing on the NJ Turnpike. A sad, sad day.)

1992 VW Fox (Bought in 1992. My only other new car before Mini. A bare-bones little trooper that I loved immensely. Uncomfortable, fiestly, and except for a bad ignition coil, extremely reliable. I smashed her on the Atlantic City Expressway in 1999 with 159k miles on her. I hit an Altima, whose rear end basically fell off the car, I drove away with a smashed headlight and a broken AC fan. Dam well-built little car. Decided I didn't want to fix her. I hear somone is still driving her regularly.)

1996 Honda Civic LX (Bought used in 1999. Reliable, a little boring, reliable, ubiquitous, reliable. Seemed to attract every bad element in my neighborhood in Philly and always looked like crap - smashed into constantly by gargabe trucks, taxis, shopping carts, dogs! Brought her to SoCal in 2002 and drove her for 3 more years. I am selling her now since Mini joined the family last week.)

1986 Saab 900 4-dr. (Loved. This. Car. Thought it would be a tougher car for city living that the creampuff Honda. It was. Kept the Honda and sold her when I moved to SoCal - no AC.)

2005 MCS!!!

My hubby had a 300i the last 4 years. I drove it out into the desert a few years ago and have coveted a car made for driving ever since. Wow...I so deserve my MCS!!!

I am sort of reposting this here because a) this a better place for it , and b) I left a car out:

'71 Toyota Corolla - It had a 1200cc engine, 4-speed, and 12" wheels. I loved that car. Little did I know this was the closest thing I would ever drive to a Mini before I ever got a Mini.
'72 Toyota Corolla - 1600cc and 13" wheels - a step up! But not as much fun.
'79 VW Rabbit - tons of fun and not an ounce of trouble in tens of thousands of miles - until I wrecked it.
'81 Honda Civic - nice, characterless transportation - 'til I wrecked it (actually this was the wife's car).
'76 Chevy Nova - was _completely_ worn out - engine, drivetrain, suspension, steering - at 160k miles when given to me by a friend when I needed a car as a stop-gap. It lasted about a month.
'81 Datsun 210 Wagon - nice blah little nothing whose MacPhearson strut towers disintrgrated.
'81 Cadillac Eldorado - I thought I had made it when I bought this car. I loved everything about it, except for the fact that it threw a rod just a couple of weeks after the warranty expired on the rebuilt early effort V6 engine. When people still talk today of Americam cars as crap, this is the kind of stuff they remember.
'67 Chevy Impala/Biscayne/Caprice? - great car. Had nothing in it except that 327 V8. It had 4 wheel drum brakes, manual steering (I had to put a spinner on the steering wheel so I could parallel park it), and a 2-speed automatic tranny. Ran it until the camshaft wore out. Sold it to a restorer who stripped it down for his own '67.
'73 Olds Delta 88 - another barge on wheels. This car was the rat's rat (rotted everywhere, shredded vinyl roof), but ran great for the coupla years I had it. Finally sold it when I moved further away from my job and couldn't afford to feed it anymore. Also, the neighbors in the better neighborhood I moved to were looking at me funny. This car was _that_ bad looking.
'75 Plymouth Duster - Everything on it except the engine had to be replaced at one time or another. The whole car leaked like a reamed-out sieve. I finally said 'no more' when the _entire_ brake system had to be replaced. We had this car through the Caprice, Delta, 210, and probably one other one.
'95 Saturn - my first ever new car. Kept it eight almost trouble-free years.
'03 Monte Carlo SS - I've had this since new. Competent for a big car.
'73 Mach 1 - About 25 years ago I had a girlfriend that had a '71 Sportsroof that I loved to drive (both her and the car). I picked up the '73 about 3 years ago. It's in great shape and only goes out occasionally.
('05 Cooper) - picking up in about a month!

Although my wife's cars have been registered in my name, I didn't include them in the above list (her '95 Saturn, '04 Monte Carlo, '01 Impala).

Ah, shoot, I forgot the '77 Jeep CJ7 and the '79 Saab 900S. The Jeep was great. For some strange reason I traded it for the Saab - mistake. The tranny on it was beyond my ability and financial means to fix at that time (late '80s).

Geeze! First time I've put this to paper. I know I had a baby blue Mustang II I think it was a 1979. I also had a '75 Pinto for about a week then the motor blew!

My dad's best friend from high school had a used car lot so almost all of my "fleet vehicles" were cast-offs from there.

Aloha!

Next week: take delivery of 2005 MCS JCW DS/B/B

Past:
Starting from 16:
1957 Porsche 356A
1977 Porsche 911S
1985 Mitsu Mirage (wife's)
2000 Nissan Xterra (wife's)
1970 Porsche 911 RS replica

This thread is great; my wife thinks I am a compulsive car flipper - I can clearly see that my disease state is moderate relative to many of my peers! Motor on.
