Okay. My second car is a '69 Lotus Europa. What can I say?

The Lotus is still a work in progress. One problem I have is with the brakes. The system has been re-built from end to end; calipers (front), master cylinders (2), wheel cylinders (rear). Pedal pressure required is incredibly high. Like stomping on a brick to get any pedal movement at all.

Any idea what to look for here?

What are you using for brake fluid?

Wasn't some fluid from Castrol used by Lotus? I don't know for sure, but just asking.

My 1971 Elan +2 had twin vacuum servos, admitted overkill on a 1600 lb. pocket rocket. Nevertheless, without the assistance it was like pumping iron to get those brakes to move. Maybe its just part of the Lotus design from that era. Are you using DOT 4 fluid?
