Audi released the first official pictures of the new A6 today. It has the waterfall grille first seen in production on the W12 A8L. Personally, I'm not liking the grille. It's suppose to be reminicent of the old Auto Union days of Audi, but the execution here seems off.

That grille's just not working. It makes the front end look chunky by adding a strong vertical element. (Cough cough, Edsel.)

that's a mighty big front overhang. Overall the styling is not unattractive but nothing that makes me excited or even very interested in the car as a whole. I'll reserve final judgement until I see it in the flesh.

The front grille would have been fine without the two solid "posts" below the license late. Now it does remind me of the Edsel.

The front looks like a Chrysler, that's why the grill is bothering us

>>The front looks like a Chrysler, that's why the grill is bothering us ). While this design does wonders for eliminating torque-steer, AWD Audi's will never have the wonderful balance of a RWD car.

I don't mind it. It makes a statement without being a big departure from the previous model like the Bangle BMW's. I have to admit the differences between current the Passat and the A4 and A6 bodies is at times hard to distinguish. Sort of like GM's from the 70's and 80's.

I am more receptive to this introduction of the A6 than the introduction of the new 5-series BMW.

I really can't disagree more. That is one HUGE & awkward front overhang:

Not to change the subject but I have been madly in love with my A4 Quattro since I got it but.......blew a water pump at 42000 miles (that'll be $1100.00!!! thank you Mr. dealer), now at 53000, both rear wheel bearings $350.00 Installed EACH!!!) and the gas gauge stopped working and it is billed as a faulty sensor on the fuel pump and the LOCAL repair shop says that'll be $400.00.....GRRRRRRRRR
NOT the right time to be asking ME aboiut an A6????
