FIAT running from J-LOW flop - Adds Charlie Sheen
I am NOT impressed with the FIAT 500, but I do like the fact that small, (AIR QUOTES) "higher end" cars coming to the US market. I think the FIAT 500 has missed the mark in the segment, they feel cheap as crap in the inside, and the changes that they made to bring it to the US market changed the car a lot. That said, the real shot in the face was the ads. J-low was just sad...
That said, the new Arbarth ad with the Italian lady cussing the guy out is good. The new add with Charlie Sheen is also funny...

I feared the worst when I heard about the Charlie Sheen ad; what's with FIAT and needing celebrity presence, anyhow?
Having said that...I thought this latest ad was pretty decent. Maybe more like that, where the "star" isn't the point / spokeperson / the "face" of the brand, but more to help punctuate the joke. Like using Alyson Hannigan on shampoo ads, or Ty Burrell with orange juice: helps the humor, but they're not the point.
I owned FIATs way back when but had pretty decent service and fun with them. Many did not, of course.
TrueDelta has some initial repair data on "new" Fiats:

but of course these are young cars *and* a small sample size.
Late 70's / early 80's Brit cars, anyone? Excreable rubber bumper MGs and Triumphs...TR7s...<shudder>
