But, sadly, NASCAR is where the money is and FOX are deeply tapped into that cash stream. It is no secret that NASCAR auto racing garners more spectators than any other sport in the US, so FOX can easily sell on-air advertising to large corporations. And, in the end, that's the name of the game.

Nope. While I agree that reality shows are anything but real, I don't feel any racing which promotes gas burning engines is good. I see the need for cars just not for racing them. Good luck with the petition though. Not likely to go anywhere because of the nature of the corporate world, but I hope you prove me wrong.
Circle/Oval track racing has its place, its just unfortunate that it has dominated the US television market. Television really is the best viewing platform for a lot of motorsports because of track/course sizes and locations. I hope Speed TV takes the suggestions and run with them.
