Our G MINI was tragically totaled on the 7th of November. Our insurance company had a third party appraisal service estimate the value of car. We paid $20,935 MSRP plus tax and such, the insurance company valued our car at $21,470. I car actually appreciated in value. This is solid fact, the value of the MINI is still above sticker. they are very close to home for me, mine was totalled in late sept.

As far as used MINI prices, it's like any other "hot" item. It's worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. If your car is in really good condition and you find a buyer who wants a MCS but doesn't want to wait, they may very well pay close to MSRP for it. I wouldn't pay any more than $20k for a used MCS, but my wants and desires are different and I view it as that's what I'd pay for a new one (stock MCS w/ no options) were I to order it.

 

Here in Southern Cal they are still paying up to $2k above list at the dealer and a bunch of MINI's in the paper that have some mileage are over list. I can't believe it, but it sure did make the so sad news easier to take.

i got hit by a 14 yr old (uninsured) kid from south san pedro, he was in an '84 mercury cougar and took a left turn (the lite was green) right into me. he pushed me from my lane into the guard rails (i knocked those out), and he tried to take off. a passerby held him till the police and paramedics got there. i had his full bumper, license plate, radiator grill and lites in the crosswalk with me and yet he tried to hit and run.
