Buyer Inspection vs MINI Inspection 1
Hello,
When I bought my MCS '04 in Jan. 07, I had a buyer's inspection at MINI Dealership.
Is Buyer Inspection similar to MINI Inspection 1, since my MINI havent done MINI Inspection 1 yet?
I had Buyers inspection for $95. And I asked, the MINI Inspection 1 is $165.
The reason I asked is because my 4yr/50k warranty will end soon and I want to check my car if everything is good and if not, they can replaced the parts under warranty.
Thanks,
domino

I think a buyers inspection is a visual inspection of most things on a car to determine the condition of the car. It might include a compression check of the engine and maybe a wheel-off check of the breaks, but does not generally include the replacement of any parts.
Inspection 1 is actually a maintenance requirement and includes a few maintenance items such as an oil change, filters changed, and maintenance tweaks to your car to bring it up to spec for that particular mileage of the car. Also, if there is supposed to be any updates to the car's ECM software, this is where it is done.
Generally, even after a buyer's inspection, I would take the car in for an oil change and consider changing out things like the air cabin filter and other routine maintenance items. The two do have a lot of things looked at in common though.
