I haven't made my purchase yet, but I have read through quite a few of the comments in the Dealer Rating System area. I have also e-mailed several people with further questions!

I picked my dealer, had wonderful service, and purchased my MINI without looking at any of the "dealer ratings". Then posted my rating.

KNAUZ made me one happy motorer

Read the reviews and found out about ordering my MINI through Long Beach MINI @ MSRP from this site.

I read the reviews and posted 2 more to add to the collection. When I get service, I intend to update those posting, too. I think the DRS has the POTENTIAL to be one of the most valuable parts of MCO. The more activity there, the better.

Decided on my dealer via location (there are two in the Dallas area). After signing up to have someone contact me via the MINIUSA site, the dealer cranked out an email to me in a rapid fashion.

Read the reviews after ordering, but most of the negative stuff was regarding the MA I had initial contact with who had left the dealer before I got hooked by the test drive.

I read the ratings before I purchased and then I left my own. You should too!

I have access to ONE dealer in the state- would it make a difference to read through the review if I really wanted a MINI? Probably not, but it would be good just to have an idea. Fortunately we have a good dealership so it didn't really make as much difference for me. So in general I would say that it is a good idea. What if you didn't know about this site until you went to your dealer and the sales staff told you about MCO? Would they earn some brownie points?

I was actually originally gonna go to Princeton MINI (NJ). Then, I read the review. Full body shudder there. So, I went with Morristown. I believe it was chollomo who totally turned me off to Princeton. Thanks for that.

I found the resource invaluable. I always knew I wanted a Mini. The question was how. I live in Washington DC and I could have chosen from several dealers - Sterling and Towson are the two closest, but I considered Richmond, Annapolis, Virginia Beach, even Pittsburgh. The dealer ratings gave me an idea of what to expect in terms of dealer markup and problems. I didn't read so much into the glowing reviews but the problems. Eventually I chose Sterling over Richmond because of the longer wait and wanting to spend some of the summer with my Miata. If I had gone to Richmond, I would be motoring by now but then again the last three days have been top down gems. Sterling is still about a 45 minute drive, but it's a nice "rural" drive which is always a rare treat in this town.

I also visited the ill-fated Mini of Arlington at the time and reading the reviews confirmed my doubts about that establishment.

MCO was launched the same month I ordered my MCS. If I was buying today I would probably have allowed Dealer Rating System influence where I ultimately had purchased my car.
