Hi Everyone,

I recently picked up an '06 MCS Chili Red w/ Silver Roof. Exterior chrome package, no stripes, chrono package, just about loaded with about 2,400 miles on it.

I bought it in Sterling Heights, Michigan. They told me it was a trade-in but could have been picked up at auction too.

I doubt the previous owner is still here but thought it may have been an enthusiast as it had an Alta Intake V 2.0 on it as well as eye decals.

Anyway, no big deal just trying to track 'em down (not for bad stuff, just history on the car). If you're familiar with the car by chance, drop me a line. It's unique enough that I thought it might get a hit here.

Very nice, I havent seen too much of the Chili red with the Silver roof

 

I found my previous owner by trolling back through the MINIs for sale forum and I spotted the car. I too had bought it from local dealer who bought it at auction. I found out it had LSD (not known by non-MINI dealer) and a bit about how it was driven.

jerzrunr, I'll check that out, good call. I called a MINI Dealer with the VIN and found out all the packages on the car (including LSD, which I was looking for)...

That's a very nice MINI you've got there. It almost looks like our other one (with the red body and silver roof), but ours is justacooper.And he's a different red.. Solar Red, not Chili Red.

Kind of off topic but not completely and the story might give you some hope:

I bought my Mini used from the local Lexus dealership on July 26 of this year. This past Wednesday morning, I'm driving to school as I do every morning. I'm stopped at a light and an old guy is a Suburban pulls up alongside me and rolls down his window. I can see he's saying something but can't hear him over the HK stereo. I turn it down and all I hear this guy say is "Hey! That's my wife's old car!"

Turns out he and his wife live in the same small town and we take the same way to work/school each morning. I got him to pull over and picked his brain for a few minutes. He was able to tell me that the car never had any problems, it was never in an accident, and the only reason they traded it in on a Lexus is because his wife felt uncomfortable driving such a small car in a busy city.

Long story short, even if you can't find the previous owner on here, don't rule out ever meeting him/her. They might pull up alongside you at a red light.
