I don't have the headlamp washers, but I think they would really make a mess of your car, especially at 60+ mph! I remember the time oh so long ago when I didn't know how every lever on my MINI worked and accidentally turned on the rear window washer and wiper. What a mess (aside from squirting the person standing behind my car )! I know not to touch that one again.

The concept is that for every third time you wash your windshield the headlight washer pops out and squirts across your headlamps to clean the surface. The direction is from the inside horizontally to the outside.
My experience with it has been that it will spray the headlights the first time you pull on the washer handle, if you wash the windsheild(screen) again shortly after that it won't wash the lights again but if you wait a several minutes before you wash it will run again. There is no upspray onto the windshield even at higher speeds. It also makes a very strange unnatural sound. My other concern is what is the affect of the washer fluid on the paint/wax job????

First off, wiper fluid shouldn't hurt your paint, or even your wax. Secondly, CMINI, you said you weren't sure about using the washer at 60mph+... Here's this though, If you're using it, wouldn't your car already be a mess? Just a thought...

ROTFLMAO!! That's the funniest thing I've ever seen a car do! I'm even MORE glad I ordered the Xenons, after seeing THAT!

I cannot find that video, nor do many of their videos even work.

My headlight washers only work when the headlights are actually on. When the headlights are off, I can spray the windshield all I want and never activate the headlight cleaning system.

The only time i use the washers is when it has just rained. Otherwise I just clean the windhields myself. I don't want to have waterspots on my paint fromt he washers. I think the headlight washers are useless here in SoCal.

How does it activate. User controlled or not is what I mean.

When you activate your windshield washers and have the headlights on.

Here's how I use my headlight washers:

We meet up with friends/family/whoever for the first time since we got the MINI. They can't believe how cute it is.

My wife says "show them the headlights!"

I roll my eyes, say "ok", get a towel from the cargo area, and tell all onlookers to
"get in front of the car, cuz I'm only going to do this once."

I start the car, turn on the headlights, and hit the squirter.

They squirt, the onlookers squeal and laugh, I get out and clean up the mess and then put the towel back for the next time.

I haven't needed them on the road yet. And I have serious concerns about the mechanisms getiing jammed (open or closed) during ice storms this winter.

The xenons themselves are great though.

>>I haven't seen it in action so how does this feature work on the headlights? Also, how useful is this feature? Does it help with light reflection and emission (since dirty headlights can make your beams less intense)? It's a nice feature but I don't see the big picture.

They work great. DO NOT fire them off when next to another car. The dazzle from the water going across your headlights sometimes scare the other car. I almost got sideswiped doing 65mph
