R50/53 Border to Border Run
#1
Chris, Me, and Brooksie are headin' out this Saturday, August 2nd, from Somewhat Sunny San Diego up the Coast route to Seattle and thereabouts for our Second Annual MINI Border to Border In No Particular Order Run. We figure on two days or so up, and hopefully this year we won't have to sleep in the MINI for one nite. (We still walk crooked some after that one). We plan on wandering back down the next weekend. We kinda have a plan, meanin' we just drive 'til we see somethin' interesting, and then we stop and enjoy the moment. We are definitely going thru the Giant's area in the Humboldts, and mostly keepin' close to the coast. Maybe we'll catch some of you on the way - we have the first stop planned for Long Beach MINI early Saturday, and then who knows?

Have fun! Sounds like a great scenic trip.
Hhhmmmm... maybe we can start a new club for border-to-border runs. Motorcyclists have a 50CC even and a 100CCC event. That's 50-hours coast-to-coast and 100 hours coast-to-coast-to-coast. Generally speaking, they go from San Diego to Jacksonville (in less than 50-hours) and there's a fair amount of documentation involved with gas receipts, witnesses and such.
I'm not quite that crazy.... well.. that's debatable.

>>Dude, you should advertise this more. I'd love to join in, but can't schedule that amount of time off this close to the dates. I have relatives all the way up the coast. So Cal, Nor Cal, So OR, Nor OR, So WA, and in Nor WA. Does it always happen the first weekend in August each year?
This is our usual vacation time, and this isn't a big production......yet. We'll see. I'll get some pics, so keep your eyes open!
