I need sympathy: I just shipped my car
I just need to know that it's all going to be OK.
Wife and I are just back from taking Tess Turbo to the shipping firm. She's on her way to Baltimore. If all goes well, she and I will make it to MTTS Boston, before she and I start our 4 month misadventure in the States.
I'm still not down from this high of this weekend, from Minis in the Alps -- and now I'm carless! Who am I suppose to trade waves with?
Man, this sucks.

Aw I know how you felt. I took possession of my car the secondish week of december in Wiesbaden Germany.. then had to ship it 5 January. That killed me.. we got it back the end of Feb and then someone hit it the first week of June last year. So back in the shop for 6 weeks. I was so lost. They will take very good care of your lil mini. She is on a ship, sitting deck side sipping Margaritas, having the time of her life. You will see her very very soon!

Dude - somehow I missed this thread. You have my ongoing sympathies. As I continue to motor at insane speeds approaching 70mph and assault the hills that we clueless people call "mountains" because we don't know better.
Hope Tess makes it over in one piece. You and she are my "excuse" for making another Dragon run this summer... would be a shame to have to lie to my wife and tell her that Rudy and I are meeting you there when really we're just going stag...

I think the shipping companies see us Mini people coming, and wish it were Friday already. I think we're worse than some of the "other" significant car owners. I checked my shipping status twice a day every day until my precious package arrived. It was worse than waiting for it to arrive the FIRST time when I ordered it!
Moving from Germany to the US, consolidating two households for the first time (married for almost 2 yrs - long story), and living together for the first time (two dogs, two cats, and us two almost-newlyweds) in a single-room hotel room for over 30 days...none of that was a problem, EXCEPT FOR THE SINGLE CAR PROBLEM. That's the first time I thought I was going to kill my husband. I had no wheels, and what was worse, i had no MINI Wheels.
I feel for ya. Chin up...we'll support you!

Just got notified of a week 14 production. Ordered in Germany and they will take delivery for me, then put on boat in July/Aug, then to me in Baltimore in late September, early October. Man, I'm dying. I never got to test drive it either. I did drive an 07, but it's not the same (or is it?)
Good luck to both of us.
