I don't know if I'm dumb or what, but why are some of the rumored things for the 2004 model year not listed on MINIusa's site that MCO told of. For instance, I don't see the 3 spoke wheel (that I don't like anyway), the thing about instant speed report in the tach, and instant fuel consumption. They still show the antenna, and not a shark fin (unless the nav is gotten). There may be more but I can't think of them right now. I do see other changes that MCO reported, like the beige leather sport seats, etc are on the site. Does this mean that some of these were just rumored items, or are they to come later? Also, one more question: What's the new exhaust offered my them (MINI) that is in the step 5 section under accessories. It costs $675, is called "sport exhaust," and isn't just the chrome sport exhaust tip. Thanks...

Cooptime,
This has been covered already in this thread The '04 Cooper. Try using the search function. I entered 2004 under keyword and found the thread.

Would you care to give me the name of the topic you saw in the search function? Because, I don't see anything dealing with what I am asking. I already know the supposed 2004 MY changes. I want to know what happened to some of the items that I read about here on MCO that are supposed to be in the 2004s. They are not on the MINIusa site and this is my confusion (items listed above). Also, the second question was asking about the "sport exhaust" they offer. Please read what I'm asking.

Three of the four items were covered . As for the exhaust I have no knowledge of it. Has anybody else heard anything about the factory sport exhaust for the MINI?

Yes there is a "Sport" exhaust available for the Cooper directly from MINIUSA. I've seen it with my own eyes. It's all stainless and sounds great. I talked with someone I know at MINI about it and he basically said that they screwed up when they put the accessories brochure together and didn't give much info about it. Expect more information in the 2004 accessories brochure.

As far as the other rumors the Shark Fin has been coraborated several times by people at the factory so I'm pretty sure it's correct. The digital speedo is 100% correct as well as the 12/03 phase in of the three spoke wheel. What is yet to be determined is if the wheel will be available as a MFSW right away. Hope that helps.

Thanks Gabe,
Any idea which company is making the exhaust, or is it a MINI secret ?

It's funny you mention the secret thing. I asked him about that and he swore it's 100% designed and made by MINI. It didn't quite look like any Cooper exhaust I've seen so that might be the case. But interestingly I asked him if he could give me further info on it so I could post it on my site (thinking this would be helping MINI out). He basically said that he's wary of giving any info like that out without corporate's specific approval. I think he didn't want to risk to be lumped together with the other "anonymous yet seemingly official" sources that I've used on my site.

Aw, man...
I hate the shark fin antenna. I hope my new MINI comes with the standard "whip".

Gabe, so this means that the speed in the tach and such will come at a later date in the 2004 MY. This goes for the steering wheel too I guess. Do you think they'll offer both the 2 and 3 spoke wheels since people like one better than the other? Also, it seems they may have to if the 3 is not MF. I really want them to keep the 2 spoke, even if it is an option.
