Buying a used o4 S Tomorrow!
Taking the drop, been looking long enough. parking my beloved silver tundra V-8 16mpg. made a deal on an 04 s, dark silver, black top. Has Alta intake and a huge stainless exhaust and look really clean. On the black plastic front fender there are some seep scratches from some one rubbing a curb, seem like a heat gun could smooth them out. Silver painted wheels w/ a few curb scratches too. 32,ooo miles. Cool polished metal trim on the doors and dash. Has the mini factory racks on, guy says they can come off and there are some inserts to cover the wholes. Overall very clean, garage kept, needs some rear tires. Owner throwing in a short ratchet with a 36 socket for the oil. Can you change that filter without getting oil leaking down everywhere? Look forward to studying this sight and doubling my mileage!

congrats!
fyi on my '04 jcw mcs, i just averaged as much as 34.5 mpg on a long highway trip on one whole tank. granted i cruise controlled most of the way at 3000rpm/~73mph
as for the oil filter, you drain the oil out first and then remove the filter canister. you might get a bit of oil seepage but if you're careful it's easy to not make a mess
