To check or not to Check?

Hey,
So, I bought my used mini (04 mcs), and from there I had a 3 month 3,000 mile warranty. Now I am vastly approaching the 3000 miles, and I feel as though it is sounding "weird" and also I feel like I may have lost a bit of power. Now I can go to the good bmw shop and they will do a used car check for 229, and this way I can see if there are any problems which could be covered in the powertrain warranty. Or I could ignore it not pay the money and live with the possibility that anyproblems could have been covered by the warranty. The problem is my thought of the weird sound and the mini loosing power could just be me being ****. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thoughts?

Thanks.

pay now or pay later?

Depends, wether you want to fork up $9000 for a blown motor later or $229 now and the loss of eating out money for a month now. Me, I'll skip the eating out for a month and pay $229 for the peace of mind.
