Rear speakers

Hi new to Mini, got mine last week 2004 MCs . I faded the sound to the rear speakers only and noticed that the rear speakers are a lot lower volume than the front barely hear them and when I raise the volume it is mainly base the mid and highs are almost not there. Are these actually base speakers? By the way it has the HK premium sound system. I was wondering if it could be a problem with the amp, the radio or this is normal.

try changing the effect setting...you have mini h/k, electronic, spatial, and a few others to choose from, they all change the way the audio comes out of each speaker, and yes on settings like mini h/k and electronic the rears are mostly used as subs or low frequency only speakers
