Hello Mini Fans everywhere,
It's been a couple of weeks since I ordered my 04 MCS, all dark silver with the Premium package, the sports package, leather seats and the cold package. Expected arrival date is November,,,,ouch. Immediate mods will be an extra set of wheels for Blizzaks for the winter, the chrome grill, new tunes
The Dark Silver was a compromise with my wife. I was going for the Indi Blue since it appears to be the same color I like on the BMW 5 series (I missed buying a used 540 for a great deal by a couple of hours, so I'm buying the mini for now). THe cars so relatively cheap that my wife and I are thinking about keeping it for our kids for their car. I've been a big fan of the Mini ever since I first heard they were reviving the product. I like the original Mini's, but am totally swayed by the new Minis and have eyed them form the launch. I thought they were a bit impractical, but after driving one, I'm hooked!

Looking through the posts here and on other boards, my neighbor & I may be the only Mini owner with both a Mini AND a Suburban(or other leviathon SUV). After I ordered mine, I drove by his house to check his out, he bought one of the first Coopers, but now a MCS sits in his drive.

Anyhow, the wait continues,

Motor On,
Robert

Congrats Robert, you will love your MCS. I just picked mine up one week ago today, she is so awesome!! You will find yourself driving around with nowhere to go and taking the long way home I do! BTW, I live in Plymouth, how has your experience been so far with Motorwerks? I thought they were pretty good. Not that they have to do much, you just pretty much show up and tell them what you want! I got the exact same car as you, except mine is of course the 2003. Did you get the blue lapis leather or the black? The blue is incredible, adds a lot of color to the car. Plus you get the blue carpet which is a nice touch. I would also suggest the auto dimming mirror and rain sensor, only $150. Havent had the rain sensor used yet...no rain. I also have the Dark Silver but with a white roof and white bonnet stripes. The dark silver roof is cool too, but if you havent seen the white you should check it out. It adds some color even though its white if that makes sense Also, the rubber floor mats are nice, I would recommend them. If you chose the All-season tires do you think you really will need the Blizzaks? Especially with DSC, ASC and all that other jazz. The wait isnt too bad...wait a second, yeah it is! The hard part is when it gets the U.S. Thats when time seems to go slow. Hope to see you motoring and congrats again!

I live in Plymouth, MN also. My 02/02 build MINI Cooper 5-speed has been
just superb so far.

Oh baby, yes, yes, yes.

The first time you drive in snow with your all-seasons, your DSC,ASC will just
idle your engine almost all the time. Well, the MC I drove with it in the winter
did that anyway. My MC does not have all that stuff.

So get your tire/rim/hubcaps ordered from TireRack now so they'll be sitting in
the garage waiting for you at the first snowfall.

Hey, wheel by my place sometime and we can go for a stroll.

Hi! I am also in the Minneapolis area! I have found Motorwerks to be less than knowledgable in fixing problems. I have never had anything fixed on the first try. (No major problems, just minor annoyances) Fun car though!

Well I'm not in Minneapolis anymore, we moved to the Philadelphia area last year. However, I do also have an SUV! Up until now I was just afraid to mention it on this site. I knew I was in trouble the first time I logged on to the miniusa site and the message "the suv backlash begins now" popped up!

So while I wait for my 04 MCS (est production date 9/5/03) I'll just have to cruise around in our big black leviathan.

Thanks for the words all,

MEBOB _ The SUV Backlash popup struck me as funny given a penchant for the big toys. I'm going t have to ake a photo of the burban and the Mini side by side for giggles and post it when the time comes. I'm trading our Mini Van for the Mini in Nov and left the wife drive the burban through the winter then get her a new car in the spring. I think this is the start of being a three car family.

MiniGirl, Motorwerks has it made with no competition. I've ALWAYS found that exclusivity in business made one complacent,,not good in my book.

Trippy, I want to get my 17" S lites chromed and get the Blizzaks on 16" slites.

joshguy, I order the panther black leather, no color inserts. I passed on the auto rain wipers, never been an issue for me before.

Scultr, my kids are 6 and 3 and with car seats, barely fit, I can't wait to ditch those child seats.

As for the restr of you, this waiting game stinks big time. good thing I found the various Mini forums so I can be OBSESSED and not get any work done at the same time.

l8r,
Robert
