My wife tells me all the time how much attention the Mini attracts when we drive to work. I never see anyone look 'cause I'm driving.

My wife works for a non-profit which had a back-to-school drive this morning. We were at a Starbucks and Einstein and there was a guy who walked around the Mini twice. I finally asked him if he'd like to look inside of it too. Nice guy... was the camera guy from the local NBC station covering the event for the AM news.

And then....

Today, I had a doctor's appt and on the way back, had to stop for a light. I pulled besides a guy in a Honda who beeped and wanted me to roll down the window.

"How much does it cost? How do you like it? Is it tight? How large is the motor?
THAT'S THE BEST LOOKING CAR ON THE ROAD!" He was sooo enthusiastic and happy about it that I didn't mind. I've driven less-than-mainstream cars most of my life so I kind of/sort of used to attention.

Kept me smiling all day long.

 

My wife had a bit of trouble understanding why we were getting such looks when she first drove w/ me in the MINI, then she'd remember-"Oh yeah, this isn't a minivan or my Honda!" Things have settled down some now- more MINI's around- but I daresay, the MINI still turns more heads than just about anything short of a Ferrari or something else truly exotic. Let's face it, the MINI is the coolest looking car in it's price range on the freaking planet. How cool it that??

 

Well its just kind of a MINI thing. I've had my Chili Red/White MCS for about one month and almost everyday, I have someone ask questions about the MINI.

I even had a young gal and her boyfriend ask if they could drive my MINI. I told them they could set in it, but if they wanted to drive a MINI, well...that's what dealers were for.
