I drive a 99 Passat with the 1.8 T engine. It's got 114K miles, and it's in excellent shape. The interior (leather) looks great, and I really like the motor. I wish I had a five speed instead of an auto, but that's my only complaint. As far as I can tell, the build quality is A+. Maybe there is a randomness to quality.

I can definitely sympathize with the space issue in the Cooper. Our upcoming MCS will be a second car for commuting/weekend fun; we need the VW for hauling kids, pets and stuff.

OK, I have to go take my meds now . . . I'm going CRAZY!

Good luck with your jetta... its a great car.... I'm getting out of my VW Beetle 00' (I picked it because it was cheaper to lease... definately not my style).... anyhow its been pretty good.. especially the first two years.. they were great... except that window thing.. but that's ok... this last year the engine has been going beserk on me... check engine light every two-three months... $200 per visit to the dealership... its really a drag.... but all things considered (new 4 year warranty especially) I would buy another VW product... once they get that body roll fixed...

Have fun... you'll been in a very nice car...

Hey whats up everyone. Well I have to say that I have gotten a ear full from all of you.. Thats cool.... I had some personal/customer service issues with my mini and If I did the Lemon Law on it , well I think my next mini would of been fine. What would have I done if it was a Ferrari and I had these problems? lol HaHAHAHA.. Think I would live with it and get them fixed..
