My jet black/wht roof MC is now in production in the UK (status 150). My thoughts do a fast forward to my preparation for dealer prep. I intend to start with Zaino body treatment, but how do I instruct the dealer?

1. Deny their wash and wax prep since removal of same is necessary for the Zaino steps?

2. Keep their treatment early and do the Zaino later?

Have any of you had the paint messed up with swirling or careless dealer treatment?

Are they likely to install their own goodies without my permission?

Would appreciate any enlightenment to these questions. Sorry if it has been posted before. Also, I am an October Club member, but only a few there have experienced the dealer prep stage.

Cheers,

John

Thanks, and looking forward to the big day!

MC, jet blk/wht roof, blk leatherette sport seats, grey interior, antracite trim-dash, 15" 8-spoke wh, prem combo, chrome bumper inserts & license frame, front fogs.

i just read on mini2 yesterday..somebody had ordered a jet black mini and the dealer wash person by washing it scratched it up

i would say tell dealer not to touch

however this is not a perfect world

dealers have to do thier testing..couple of miles of driving..filling up gas..blah blah

if u can..tell them just wash, no waxing necessary

thast all i can say

There was a thread yesterday from punisher that said the dealer scratched his black paint...just tell the dealer not to wash the car.

Yep, I spent the entire day today buffing out the scratch marks they left in my paint. Just got done with my third coat of wax and it started raining on me.

I let my dealer wash it but had them put NO WAX!! in big letters on the prep form because I was also planning to Zaino it first thing.

Their wash job was fine - no scratches. But it really depends on the dealer.

I think I will follow your lead - wash only. Less work in the long run.

Thanks,

John
