R50/53 Anyone notice more rattles than usual in their car ('04, 60k)?

My 04 metal roof is the tightest car I've ever owned, but I don't have expectations of any car a few years old not having some little squeaks and rattles when it gets cold. There's a lot to be said of taking the attitude of turning the stereo up rather than trying to hunt them down which is often difficult, frustrating, and ultimately futile. I think not having a sunroof helps with any car.

I got my Powerflex bushings from www.waymotorworks.com
Thanks!!!!!!!!!
I just ordered the Powerflex bushings and motor mount bushings, hopefully, I'll get them installed this weekend. If it makes the ride better, I'm gonna be floating on clouds!

I have a 04 MCS with 37K, most of the rattle I hear is from the sunroof.
You can fix this problem by simply putting some velcro (fuzzy side) on the flip up wind deflectors. You probably have some "lines", or marks" on the deflectors where they rub up against the sunroof. This is what is squeaking when the vehicle flexes, it rubs the sun roof on the deflectors.

It is so funny to hear about rattles. When I picked up my 2005 MCS about 2 months ago, I noticed a huge rattle in the dash. The original owner suggested that I not worry about it. Your rear cargo area rattle reminds me of a Nissan Maxima I had with a sunroof. I swore the rattle was in the trunk and had my wife lock me into the trunk and drive down the road so I could figure out where the rattle was. She was freaked that we would get rear-ended and she would be a widow Turns out that the rattle was indeed in the sunroof but the sound was being referred to the rear of the car making me think it was the trunk area. Good luck on your rattle. I think that my CAI, Catback and radio will do wonders for most of my rattles. When I read the thread that the stiffness of the car is the source of the rattles, I also realized that this is precisely why I bought the MINI. For ultimate stability in the twisties. Well worth the ocassional rattle IMHO. Bob

At 59K miles, my '05 MCS does not rattle. I guess I got a good one from Oxford. I also think that having 16" second generation continental runflats do help with the ride quality and reduce the harshness into the cabin. It also helps that I do not have a sunroof. The more I read about rattling sunroofs the more I am glad I never opted for one.
