R50/53 Financing
#1
Hello fellow Miniacs,
I was just wondering how I go about getting financed after I order my MCS. I know this depends on the dealer but I assume it is probably the same at most. Do I get financed when I make my deposit/down payment and start paying monthly right away, before my car is finished, or do I get financed when my car arrives at the dealer upon delivery.
Thanks so much for your insight,
Michael

you can apply directly through miniusa.com, thats what i did, mainly for peace of mind before i went in and ordered mine.... i brought in the approval code i got via email from BMW Financial services.
The dealer said that we would do the actual financing for the sticker price once it comes in. The website only plugs in the base price for the model.
Hope this helps.

i put down a 1,000 deposit and when my car is delivered [hopefully this week!] then we will do the nitty gritty. I have my credit application in, just not run yet.
I'm going to goto my credit union and see what they will offer me, then goto MINI and see if they can meet or beat it. That is what they told me to do.
we'll see!!
i'm starting to lose sleep now since i'm so anxious to get my baby!!

I financed through MINI, (for sake of ease if anything.. but the rate is pretty much the same unless you find a real deal somewhere else..).. but it seems like you get a little extra time before your first payment is due... I picked mine up Sept 6th, and my first payment isn't due untill october 21st.. I don't even have the ppwk from MINI yet, ust the contract from my dealer...

We financed our new MINI with Peoplefirst.com as MINI Financial services was unable to match the excellent interest rate offered by Peoplefirst. We financed our MINI for 36 months @ 4.75% APR which was a steal in comparison to the best rate we could possibly get from MINI.
I applied for the loan online about 2 weeks prior to the arrival of the car to the dealership and was approved in less than 15 minutes with no further hassles. We got our blank check on the mail 2 days after that.
The dealer praised the low interest rate and promptly accepted the Peoplefirst check with no further issues either. We were ready to go in less than half an hour.
I am very impressed with Peoplefirst.com and highly recommend them for your MINI purchase.

We got our Cooper on 9/7/02 (11 days ago) and our first payment isn't due until 10/21. When you buy a new car, your first payment typically isn't due until 45 days after taking delivery.

Although the website "warns" that it only uses base price, this is not true. If you build your MINI on the website, save it and then select the payments option, it WILL factor in the new MSRP based on the MINI you built. Give it a try - although your dealer may try to pad your payments with a higher interest rate.
