Are there any MC/MCS motorers who use G Tech Pro Competition in their MINIs? I've only had my MCS for about a week, and after I tried to calibrate the RPMs for the Gtech, the tach on the GTP clearly is not registering properly. From what I've heard, the Mini has a voltage-regulated cigarette lighter. Is this true? What are my options, other than running wires down behind the dash and splicing into another accessory? I'd rather not have to do this, as I'd like the keep the Mini pristine inside and out.

Any and all help would be appreciated! BTW, I've already tried turning on all sorts of power-drawing features---lights, A/C, radio, fog lights, etc.

Hello Miniature and welcome to MCO!

I do not have the G-tech, but am thinking about getting one, and have read that the regulated cig-lite outlet will not work for the G-tech.

Check out the website of Pilo Racing - an MCO sponsor. I believe Dan does offer a way to hook up the G-tech, contact him for a solution / suggestions!

Cheers,
M.

Thanks, MG-BGT. Your words are starting to sink in, and I am not happy. Oh well, hopefully Pilo Racing's product ideas are discreet and attractive. I will have to settle for 0-60 times for now (but even that I am not able to do yet since break-in keeps me conservative).

I got RPM to come close if your turn on the headlights and rear defroster. it creates enough interference that once above 2k RPM's register pretty well.
