Future MINI owner - roof rack question

I'm looking at a few 1st gen Cooper S. I came across one that I really like but it has a roof rack that I do not like...I was wondering if it is possible to remove without leaving holes in the roof? Thanks guys!

Most likely the holes are permanent, you can plug them but it will still be there. Did you verify they are the drilled type not the suction type. Maybe you can lower the price.

When you buy a used car you sometimes must make compromises. I would think that if you don't like the rack, then you should seriously conside if this car is for you.

If you remove the rack the studs in the roof you can puto covers on them and they look fine. Look at my gallery and you will see them.

Funny I'm in the same boat - but I commute a lot, but would use the racks. If the things didn't whistle like mad, I wouldn't mind....

So you just pop out the Allen screws, take the racks of and put covers on? Where does one pick up these covers, are they expensive?

I checked out your gallery cigarman - nice mini, I don't mind the way the covers look at all, and would love the functionality of having them if needed.
