Code P 0304

Hi,

I have MCS 02, 94K got code 0304, I changed spark plugs and ignition coil, the code is still on and the engine light is flashing and the DSC light is on.
Any suggestions,

P0304 mean that the OBD is detecting a misfire in cylinder 4. You might want to replace your coil too.

I did replace the ignition coil and spark plags waiting for spark plags wires to replace too. still the 0304 code comes back

I just got finished with a rebuild that began with 0304 code. Turned out that the rings in cylinder 4 had FUSED to the ring land on the piston!!!

Go figure!!

Anyway, the problem become evident at first with a compression check that revealed low compression on cylinder 4 only under dry compression check. Dry check showed problem, which could indicate valve trouble, but wet check the low compression went away, indicating that the trouble was in the cylinder, not the head. Get a complete compression check from your fav. mechanic and see what it says.

I hope that is NOT the problem. It has cost me almost $9,000. (but now I have a Quaife and a kevlar clutch in addition to an engine rebuilt by Hubie Fuh with a bullet-proof bottom end. So, it wasn't all bad!
