R50/53 Do you still wave...

I stopped waving because my arms get tired here in Miami. On my 10 minute commute, I will usually see about 8 to 10 minis on the road. In addition to that I pass about 5 or 6 parked minis. So, I gave it up. Plus with all of the mini congestion here, I still never got a return wave. I usually just try to play with other minis. I just pass one in a different lane, then slow down and see if they want to play.
The other day I found a black cabrio MC that was as bored as I was.

To wave, or not to wave: that is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous waving, or to take arms against a sea of waving, and by opposing, end them? Hark, I wave on, and wave back, to suffer on when those who don't.
I was in the cute seaside town of Langley, Washington (no, the other Washington and the other Langley) on Whidbey Island today. A beautiful day for a drive. I was climbing in my car when another Mini came around the corner and pulled a "u-ie" coming within ten feet of me and my car. I naturally waved and thought the woman was going to stop and say hi. Oh, contrare! Not only did she not stop, she didn't wave, didn't nod her head, didn't smile-- nothing! I think I saw her nose go in the air though. And her car was filthy! An embarassment to real Mini owners.

I prefer to think that non-waivers are either unaware or uninformed. I think it was Socrates who is credited with believing that all bad behavior comes from bad education. Of course, in the dialogues it is apparent that he also thought there was a point in life where education might not 'take'.
Still, I prefer to smile, and wave, and perchance, to dream.

Just trying to get the word out to nice people.

I'm in Bucks County and waiting on delivery of my MINI. I'll wave if I see you. My guess is that the people who don't wave probably aren't even on this site as they aren't true MINI people!

This is the danger of oversaturation we're likely to see now that gas prices have begun to push people over the edge. New MINI drivers may not be those buying it because they love the car and community. What will we do when MINI is just another Fiat--that odd little foreign car, but nothing special anymore?

I'll keep on waving and winking, regardless of what others do. I place little cards on the windshield that says Nice Mini, too. We must educate these people that Mini's are more than gas efficient cars... they are family, and the people that drive them are family too (kinda - sorta).. ha ha
