I don't get those that do not wave back. Where's the love? Are they jealous or just born with nasty and stuck-up attitudes?
I live in the Newport News / Hampton area of VA. Hope to see Ya and wave as well some day.

BTW, are you an HRMINI.com member?

I drove my GP yesterday to work and had a gal jumping out of her seat/flashing her horn/flashing the hazards to get my attention. It was awesome!

I was stopped in traffic this morning on my way to work on a 2 lane road DIRECTLY (driver to driver going opposite ways) next to another mini driver and I rolled down my window (they're tinted) and waved and smiled, and she just looked at me in utter shock.

however, I still wave. whenever.wherever.

oh, btw, lady in the nightfire red mini this morning 8:32am on Dallas St.: shame, shame.

I'm afraid the MINI has reached the masses. People buy them because they're cute or something. They have no interest in mods or motoring and they don't understand the wave. When you pass an enthusiast, they will wave!

I once had a similar incident, only it was at night and the girl flashed a bit more then just her lights.

MD-IN-UK, I'm waving at ya!

No, I had no idea that there was a HRMINI.com! I'll go and check it out right away. I hope I see you out on the road. My husband and I will definately wave to you if you are on the Southside!

p.s. Did you purchase your Mini at Checkered Flag in Virginia Beach? That's where I got mine. Take care and be safe!

Hey, Meat & MD! I'm currently just south of Richmond - and I WAVE! HRMINIs are great, and the Tar Heels MINIs (out of NC) are also pretty cool; the two clubs tend to play together a lot.

I'm going to post this at HRMINI.com and then I'm going to ask why Checkered Flag isn't pushing participation more. that could explain why things seem to have slowed down a bit.

Sarah speaks the truth! Tar Heel does have some great events. Of course so do we up here at HRMINI. And the wave, well, lik estated before. Now that "normal" people have them, thewy don't always get it. Just keep waving!

And we bought both of our MINI's at Checkered Flag!

I am still a waver, though I get many crazy looks now. The best are from the people in the JustACooper Zipcars around Philadelphia

The best moments are still meeting up with someone on the highway - I have had three semi-long treks with another MINI and each have been fun, with honks, waves, etc. So there are still those who are in love with their MINIs, at least...

Where Im at it So many MINIs so few waves
I pulled up next to a CR Cabrio with his top down the other day at a stop light. I stared at the guy for the entire light and he never once looked over Its not like its a normal car and the one next to you is just like all the rest. I think some people either dont know or are just too self conscious to wave
I usually flash a peace sign or a high five off the steering wheel.

Nobody ever waves back """EVER"""

I was just over in the Spring Hill/Brooksville area of Florida and seen at least 10 Coopers. I waved but not one single person waved back. I thought I was still in the Daytona area where nobody waves. I guess waving is a thing of the past. I had a Corvette before this JCW and very few Corvette owners ever wave. 5 years age it seemed every Corvette owner would always wave.

I've been doing well on the waving this summer. Most that I've saluted seem to respond, though some a bit grudgingly...

As I said before, I'm a waver, but I got a funny one this weekend that I thought I'd share.

I was sitting at a light talking with my daughter and saw a guy hanging (up to his waist) out of the rear window waving his arms frantically at me. He looked like he was a 70's throwback (not that there is anything wrong with that).

When I looked over at him thinking something was wrong, he gave me a two handed "rock n' roll" / "I love you" sign to which I nodded and gave a peace sign. He was thrilled.

Just thought it was cute.

cheers,

dag

I couldnt agree more. This weekend I drove past about 4 or 5 MINIs and not one of them looked my way or nothing. It kind of made me depressed... Then I realized that I was in a MINI and it made me feel much better.

Yes that would be depressing. Last weekend another Mini pulled up beside me at a stop light. Instead of waving, the woman lifted her t shirt and quickly displayed a nice pair of naked breasts. When the light turn green, the her shirt came back down. Now that is better than just waving anytime. Maybe the female Mini drivers out there could start a trend!
