Ive only been on this forum for a few days, and a mini owner for the same length, but I predict someone saying "sprint booster!" and then a huge debate over it's merits

But 99.999% of the nay sayers have never actually owned a SB so they're just talking out their @$$'s. It's a great mod for the Cooper but IMO not worth blowing your entire budget on. For starters try a sway bar and some springs.

what do you recommend. i hear alot of good stuff on H&R springs. but will that satisfy my fantasy for a "slammed" look?

Nope springs aren't gonna get you slammed unless you cut them There was an ad in the marketplace for a set of used Vmaxx coilovers for $300.

I'm interested in the benefits of a sway bar. However, I do have a third party bumper to bumper warranty and I don't want to risk giving them any excuse to deny claims in the future. Can anyone speak to this? I'm sure companies vary on this but I'm interested in any input.

That said, I plan on trying the sprint booster. I love the pull and throttle response of my cbr600, and if I can get a taste of that in my mini I'll be very happy!

15% pulley if it has not been done yet, then I would say the best bang for your buck is to get a tune. Either a live or remote tune from one of a couple of the tuners here that post on NAM.

Most of the time including the manufacture unless the part or mod directly caused the problem there should not be an issue. See the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act
http://www.lemon-law-explained.com/m...ranty-act.html
http://www.impalaclub.com/naisso/magmoss.htm

The throttle delay can be adjusted with a tune along with the DSC.

Looking at his sig I believe he owns a justacooper, therefor, 15% pulley is out, I'd go with either springs or bar.

What do you want to do with the car is what you should ask yourself first. Are you happy right now with the stock engine performance? If so, then concentrate on the suspension. You will definitely tell a difference with a swaybar. You might be able to get a good set of springs and swaybar for a little over $300 (you can save a little longer). If you want more power, however, get a s/c pulley and then save up for a tune. Just think about what you want the car to do. Believe it or not, making the car handle better can make the drive just as exciting, especially if you want to take the car into the twisties.

Thanks guys. I do only have just the base no pulley for me. But I also love the handling of the mini and I guess sway bars wouldn't hurt ! I'm starting to lean towards the looks now cause I've been down in the dumps knowing I have only 115hp /: lol

Since you're in Georgia come to our shop in Atlanta and we'll get you the most bang for your buck. Since you have just a cooper the Cold air intake will give you the most power for your buck.

iwashmycar. your cooper looks amazing. i love the color. just figured i'd let you know. lol.

also, i'm all for the mods! i've done a few cosmetics to my '03 Cooper, now i'm focusing on the engine, soon to be CAI, then maybe a sprint booster, then heading to the suspension. :D

whats the best CAI? and gimmie some ideas on what else to do?!

My 1st add-in was an ALTA CAI, LOVE IT! Great sound AND performance. It actually INCREASED my MPG as well... During normal driving that is.

It has been killing me not slamin my MINI- this is the 1st car ive had, coming from my previous 4 vehicles of frame-draggin trucks, eventually itl go down, just want to do it right, ive seen a lot of hack jobs and train wrecks just to get the desired altitude adjustment on plenty of rides. Dont want to just throw parts on and screw the geometry up... That said, i personally feel the CAI had.. And has, the instant gratification for me

Driving lights? (mounted on the grille) or are you talking about the ones mounted in the lower spot on the bumper?

I have a fairly simple 4 light set-up for lower grill mount, basically consists of 8-10" flat brackets, with slotted holes, mounted to the bumper holding the 5" lights. Went with 5" to sit quasi-flush with bumper/valence. Pic in gallery.

yeah. you're lookin' about $300 for the lights. might not include the wiring job. plan on doing that yourself? if not then you're looking another at least $100 from the dealer. (most likely more, i'm being nice.. lol.)
