Too much on the Torque limmiters, WAY too much.
I just got back from a run with the MINI5280 guys and girls, the tune I made yesterday had a little to agressive Torque settings. As we started up the mountain, the car kept going lean at part throttle, and limp kicked in pretty much every time I came off the throttle! Altitude change perhaps?
Anyhow I loaded an older version of the tune and it was fine the rest of the trip. I am going back through and reseting a few things to not be as aggressive. She was screaming today after the tune was changed, (Ask bmacneal for verrification!) It was deffinately down a little on power from yesterday, but the tiny stock brakes still got the glazed over squeak.
It was a great time to say the least, even with no radio.
Don "Old81" got some vids that one of us will put up later on.

Thanks Don I was just trying to find out how to make a link to the VID's and PIC's you took.
Anyhow, in VID 1, you can hear the ECU start to try to make compensations to correct the bad values in the manifold pressure, and VE fuel maps. I am trying now to get the isue sorted out, along with correct TOBZ's timing maps! He was doing so much the wrong way that its a wonder that the good parts of the tunes he did lasted as long as they did before they where over corrected by the adaptations!

It's making power now! I still have some timing and fuel to mess with (as you will see in the logs) Part throttle needs the most work, TOBZ must suck at anything but full throttle and breaking stuff! I actually went OVER 12psi of boost! My average is only about 10psi, where it came from I really have no clue, but I'm not complaining about it. The temps where really good for doing all the runs within 30 miles and about 45 minutes. The ambient temp is about 60 degrees.
I am throwing in an idle log just so you can see how smooth I have it now, NOT like Don's video.
Well here they are, the best out of the 8 different logs. Oh the AFR spike in the 3-4th gear pull at 6200RPM, I have no idea, maby just a fluke?
NO MORE LIMP EITHER!

More rain today, so no logs. I am going to make a few unloaded adjustments from yesterday's logs though.
In other and totaly unrelated news, my Harley Davidson carb kit came in for the Suzuki! Its about time, I have been gittin the itch to do some wheelin.
So that install is going to take up some of my MINI time, but it's time well spent.

Just the bolt on's, intake, exhaust, header, DFIC, 63mm throttlebody, and the Sprintex. That's it, just a whole bunch of stock on the inside.
I am adjusting the AFR curve now, but I wont be able to test it tonight with the wet roads. The purple line (KNOCK) is what has my consearn, at about 6000 rpm it really start's coming up, time to downscale the time.

Just got done with timing! Acording to the 3rd gear pull I just did, I could probably bring it back up some. Through the entire run KNOCK NOISE levels where never over 80! 80 is good but there are areas where it is around 40, with a somewhat lean AFR, those are the areas that I can make more power. (And its a nice wide spot from 4000 - 5700RPM!)
I am starting on correcting the fuel maps, lots to do here now. It's a little lean across the board. The curve is decent (It ought to be TOBZ spent 3 days trying to get it right) but, with all the FUBAR'ed timing and other stuff, its now a little leaner than I like.
OH BOOST was 12.4ish in all of todays logs! Either the car is loving the current weather conditions, or the blower finally broke in and sealed up.

LOTS of progress since Sundays drive.
My AFR (GREEN LINE on the graphs) is in the mid 11's top end, it shuld be upper 10's so its really not that far off up there. There was a hump that repetedly went into the 12's on all the logs at 5500-6000 which is a bad lean spot, it shuld be low 11's there, and way down at the start of the run I was way too lean from 1600-3000 the AFR was knocking on 15's where it shuld be 13's and 12's.
Really no need to pull the plugs yet, I trust the technology. I will be pulling them after I order another set of BRISK SILVER's.

Just a word of caution.

Rick, Some Guy is right. The old school way is absolute - failure is not an option. Reading plugs is still the best way to see whats going on.
11.6 was the AFR target a few years back - today it can be higher with our lean burn engines - So, what does the EGT look like 1600 to 3000 under load?

Well Steve, from the start of the pull at 1600 to just abou 3000 RPM, the AFR hung around in the upper 15's, with a spot at around 2000 that was actually a 16! Then at 3000, it was just a sudden drop into the low 11's. This is where I am doing most of the work on the fuel mapping. From my old log's when I was working with TOBZ the same maping was reading how I want it to look now, just with all the other adjustments it changed the fuel curve to be a little leaner. My car when on the dyno seemed to make more power with the richer mixture, so we will see how it feels tonight. I still need to do the part throttle mapping, it is quite a bit rich, so there is room for improvement there.
If I can get the tune nailed down, I might start working on switching the fuel to E-gas next week.

LONG day of working the tune tonight! I just reviewed the second set of graphs that I took today.
WOW! LOT's of power!
The KNOCK started creeping back up on me, but it shuldn't take more than 5 minutes to fix that.
NO LIMP mode, NO EML light, check engine light came on, code thrown was for catoletic converter efficancy (Guess what I DON'T have one!)
I would say after tomorrow's minor tweaks, I am going to give it until Saturday to see what pops up. Then the E85 is going in!
NO TOBZ or other tuner nessicary, just me!
AH S#!t, I can't attach any more logs! I am out of space acording to NAM!
Give me a minute I got this!
