My window squirters fell off, somebody put scoops in their place. Is it really that hard to actually get out and WASH a windshield?

Oh we havn't left yet. I've just been really busy at work this month. I had to head to Best Buy headquarters in Minneapolis. They had thier annual vendor summit and our little comany won acceseery vendor of the year .

I will be basically gone from the 4th through the 22nd The 4th through the 9th will be up in the great north west on "buisness" . Playing four rounds of golf . Costco vendor turny that benefits their charity. I know, I have a hard Job . I get back on the 9th then it's off to Maui the next day

I have managed to squeeze in one new mod I need to do to the Mini before I leave. More power !

Been reading this thread for 3 days now. Thanks for all the info youve posted.

The IC exhuast vent is causing the negative air after the vent, I think. If the exit duct were longer (like a cowl induction hood on a 69' camaro) this could help the affect.

Just my thoughts

I was wondering when you were going to make it to High Plains. I have been there with USGPRU (gp bikes) racing. Its very easy to get going fast on that back straight, going down hill and all.

Gary, Finally got one of the VID's done from the last MINI5280 ride! It turned out great, and even though I've never heard of the music, it really fits. I hope the others come out just as good.

Since I'm at it heres a few pic's of the new S/C pulley, and brakes.

The 64mm pulley, so far I am seeing a 3-4psi increase in boost.

The 13" front Wilwoods, hey it's got go, but it needs to stop too. (Thanks Todd @ TCE)

13" of brake fills up a 17" wheel nicely, and NO spacers where needed with my Konig Feathers.

The rears just got a 11.75" rotor upgrade, the stock ones just looked soooo tiny!

And the parting shot. I vinyl wraped my fog lights with rally yellow film, changed the LED's in my "Halo" turn signals to amber" and this is what it looks like when I turn them on. I love the look.

Thats all I have for tonight, enjoy the Video! Thanks Gary.

Nina's 99 red balloons in the original german (as it should be, ) 1984

Looked like a nice day for a "Mini" invasion, was the classic @ the end a part of the group or just a random occurance?

As far as the brakes, look great, I like the golg lug's. I've been wanting to do a BBK for a while now (I just have the "Power Slot / Hawk" combo for now), but I don't really need them now and every time I get the money around I either find or need another go-fast part, and who needs to stop if you're not going fast....

3-4 psi, WooHoo....Just curious, what kept you from the 60mm, stock innerds, your choice of red-line, Sprintex's advice? (seriously curious for hopefully not in the too near future reference.)

I didnt want to try the 60mm yet, mainly because my fuel map is already starting to tip out of range even at my altitude. You have the ByteTronik S/W the pressure scale on the main fuel map goes up to the low 1800's, which was fine with the 70mm but, now with just the 64mm my recorded manifold pressure is in the low 2000 range. With the 60mm I would need to go back and start from scratch on new pressure maps, and a fuel map to match. My 550cc injectors are also currently working at 90% duty cycle with running E85, and there are no larger injectors yet, I might even need to go to an external fuel pump to get the fuel supply needed for the 60mm. Eventually I will get there, but not for a while.

The classic mini at the end of the video was just a random coincidence, but it did make for a nice finish.

Well it's done, I still have some finish work to do toget rid of the rough edges, and paint the back side, but it will work.

This shuld keep the air from just going around my I/C.

Yes the hood closes just fine.

EEEWWWW, my front emblem looks nasty, ah tomorrow.

Just got done painting some pices, and replacing the spark plugs again. This time I went with the NGK Irridium IX in 2 steps colder than the stock heatrange, Part # BRK8EIX, I also closed the gap down to .030 rather than the stock .032, It sounds quite a bit better at idle and just reving it in the garage, but I havn't taken it out yet. While I had everything apart to get the plugs out and paint, I also flushed out my I/C. Yuck I still have green oil from my toasted M45 coming out of it! 2 cans of brake cleener later I wasnt getting much green anymore.

Last night I ran a couple logs, and with an airbox temp of 75 degrees my boost pressure was hitting 14.2psi! Not bad concidering with the 70mm pulley at the same temp I would only get 12.7psi.

Nice pics, and props for the work on the IC airflow--be cool (pun intended) to see some intake temps with hood vents open versus closed, and with and without the IC diverter, get an idea how much each is contributing. Cooling is such an achilles heel with these cars--great to see some different approaches to it!

Well the new plugs worked. KNOCK noise droped by about 10%! Only problem is if I dont fix this rattle by trimming back the DFIC diverter that I made, theres a good chance I blew up my throw out bearing! I just got the scoop trimmed, but I will wait until morning to see what it does.

Bad news, My death rattle is not going to be easy to fix. To make matters worse MITM is in two weeks, no idea if I can even get the parts I need that fast.

I am pretty sure the timing chain tensioner let go, and is just floping around in the front of the motor. I'm going to start taking everything apart tomorrow morning, see whats broke and see if I can get the parts in my short timeline.

If antbody knows any tips and tricks to get to the timing chain, let me know. Also what all gaskets, and whatnot that I am going to need.

I just did some looking around, and the job really dosen't seem too complicated. As long as I can get all the replacement parts fast, I might still have a day or two to detail the dirt out of the car before the big show. Looks like there goes the money I was saving for a new set of NT-01's. The tear down starts in the morning, I will keep updates coming.
