Help...Outer Ball Joint Removal

Hi, I am in the process of changing the outer ball joints on my 02 MC, I have removed the bottom retaining nut and the 2 smaller bolts, as well as removed the ball joint from there, however I cannot get the ball joint out of the control arm itself. I have purchased a tool that looks similar to a "C" clamp with a bolt that you toghten against the bottom of the ball joint but it is not moving at all. Am I missing something? Please help??

Thanks in advance!!!

When I replaced mine last week I had to use a torch to heat the crap out of them. On top of that, it took an air-chisel to pound them out. They were in there pretty tight. The nice thing was the new ones slid right up into the holes and were painless to reinstall.

I can't for the life of me get my outer ball joints out of the hub carrier. I've been using a torch, but I don't have an air-chisel. I've pounded some nice indentations onto the top of my passenger side outer ball joint. Haven't started in on the driver's side yet.

Any ideas people?

edit: all it took was me posting on NAM. I went back out and chiseled the seam between the hub and ball joint. No amount of pounding on the top could do it, but working on that seam finally got the ***** off. Yeeesh.
