You may just need a little maintainance such as new plugs or new air filter.

Mine is doing this too (although its only stalled once, the idle does drop quite a lot when braking and the engine is cold) I'm almost 100% certain that mine is down to the spark plugs as I don't think they've been changed for a long time (bought the car a few months ago) so will be changing them some time this week

Changed my plugs yesterday and the issue has stopped. My old plugs looked normal, but were caked in deposits so were due a change. This could well be the solution for you.

The deposits on your spark plugs may mean that you have deposits in your intake system as well.

A good cleaning with Seafoam will do wonders.

When I say deposits, I mean the usual greyness found on plugs of that age (I'm guessing mine were the same ones from the factory) What is seafoam? Have seen it mentioned in a few places, but unsure of what it is/does/how its used?

There are plenty of threads on NAM about using Seafoam. Please use the search feature and pour yourself a tall glass of your favorite beverage.

I've used it on my 02, 03, and 06 MCS as well as my Tacoma. Does wonders in cleaning the intakes on fuel injection vehicles. You'll notice the difference right away.
