It's the two-tone look. Used Dark Silver Metallic as the color. Did that on my old '02 MCS (was pure silver), but just trim and scoop. Had them painted at Maaco. This time around, I did the trim, scoop (survived the wreck amazingly), mirror caps, gas cap, roof, and spoiler.

If you decide to do this, keep in mind you have to buy new trim. If there is any wax or Back-to-Black on your trim now, the paint won't stick to it.

It just kinda happened.
Yea, wasn't going for a show car, it's all just functional as an all out race car.

Having this baby parked in my livingroom during the week, then off to the track on Saturdays sounds good to me.

Haaa... I had a friend who had an older (70s) Ferrari F1 car in his house, along with about 5 assorted Ferrari motors as coffee and end tables.
Hmmm, ...wonder if I could actually fit my Mini in the TV room????

Ok, my bad. You would like original material.

It looks like a frontloading washing machine with a Honda wing as a drying rack. How fast is your spin cycle?

I thought fuel cell's, remote reservior shocks, and stand alone ECU's where just for "RACE CARS" yet you have all of the above, and continue to call that monstraucity a "STREET CAR".
ONASLED built his car to use as he sees fit, if its his thing to only use what he built solely for his own enjoyment and not for competition its his choice. I respect him just the same now as I would if he had a signature that bragged about championship wins, and the like.

Well Said

Most would have not got past fabing up this slick shifter much less the rest of the car . Anonymous negative comments are the nature of the Internet and as you can tell of no real concern .

Really, thanks for the nice words guys.
I'll just say one (kinda long) thing, and then I want to let this thread continue with more sweet looking Minis. Those "haters" are of a group that most here already know, lead by their masterhater (haaa). Fact is that I personally built just about every single piece of this car. I was the first to really do a Mini of this magnitude, and I have to say that I am quite proud of it. See, I "build" cars, .. I fabricate, I wrench, I weld, I design, mold, paint and I innovate. So, it does NOT bother me when these particular "haters" make negative comments on the car as I know they have not the ability to even consider doing it themselves. There is no reason anyone should like how it looks, but the ones that know, know it goes a LOT deeper then looks. It's function over form when it comes to race cars, unless you have millions. :-)

Just to add, ..the car goes better then it looks. Right out of the shop, no adjustments, the car was the fastest on the track, every time it was on the track. Really, just two clicks on the rear rebound is all it needed! The car is scary fast, though power is not where I put my focus. The chassis is where I was able to do my work and it paid off. Talk about go kart! I truly wish I could offer you all a chance to take this nearly sub 2k lb mini around a track. Amazing. I'd love to see all your faces when you hopped out. Haa

So I do take pride that I was able to accomplish this. Just sayin.. ;-)
