What is the CORRECT oxygen sensor for the MINI?

I have a 2006 MCS with 103K miles and a check engine light. I haven't pulled the codes yet but suspect it is due to failing oxygen sensor(s), which should be replaced at my mileage anyway.

I have read numerous threads here and on other sites about the correct sensor for our cars, and have yet to find a definitive answer. Obviously, the OEM sensor will work, but ranges in price (that I've found) go from $209 to $400. I'd rather not spend that kind of money on two sensors if a more afforable alternative will work without issues. I have heard mixed reports on Bosch sensors working, as well as reports that they don't work. I've found multiple sensor numbers that others have used -- 15729, 15730, 15738, 13878, and NGK 25648. Amazon tells me that only the 15730 and 13878 will work. But again, these are Bosch, and various reports say Bosch O2 sensors will throw codes on these cars.

So I am looking for a deifinitive answer on which sensor(s) actually work, as intented, without throwing codes? Or do I just need to bite the bullet and drop $500 on two OEM sensors?
