Car jerking foward at full stop.

So, it's only happened twice, but I have stopped my 2003 MC to a full stop at a light and it started to jerk forward a bit. After the light turned green, I took off and it didn't do it again when I stopped the next time. It happened on two completely different days and I not sure what is wrong and am a bit worried. I've read that I may need a software update for my CVT, if this isn't the issue what should I do? The Mini dealer in my area is over a hundred miles away! Do you think my CVT needs serviced? Or I am having brake issues? EEP!

With the CVT alot seems to depend on mileage and if the fluid has been changed on a regular maintenance schedule. It would help to know your mileage and if it has been maintained with fresh fluid changes.

I have about 46k miles on her. I am not too sure about if the CVT was serviced that often, it looks to have been I would say because the carfax I got with it was very clean and showed general routine service for the car at the dealer. I am a little worried about it so I also contacted the Mini dealer in Indianapolis in hopes that I don't have to drive there and they will tell me I can take it to my local BMW dealer.

If you don't know for a fact that the CVT fluid has been changed, I would get that done ASAP. By all accounts it's necessary for keeping those temperamental trannys functioning.

Some dealers have been very proactive with extra fluid changes.....some have stuck with the mini intervals.....which have proven grossly inadquate....
