Serious mini cooper problem please help

So last week my throttle stuck, brakes didn't do anything so I sped up to run 2 lights yellow, made it to a parking lot, started making the car slow down, but couldn't make the one turn, went up over the sidewalk, and now have a leak of oil or tranny fluid, but the car runs fine. Had no issues until today when I was getting on the highway infront of another vehicle I was doing 30mph, kept pumping the gas pedal, put it to the floor, and still 30MPH, and the gas pedal went to the floor easier then ever. Then the car started picking up speed again after a little. I went to turkey hill to get gas later, car wasn't moving much when I was turning in so I stomped on it, let go after the car started moving, and when I got into the parking lot the gears shifted, and started picking up speed without my foot on the pedal. Major delay in response.

Luckily I haven't been in an accident or anything yet, but don't know what to do with my MINI. Was wondering if this would help at all?

Uh, I would stop driving it and get it towed to a dealership or MINI friendly garage right away. It's clearly not safe to operate right now.

Its my only ride, and don't got money to sink into this car. I'd rather get a new air intake, and that speed booster to see if it makes a difference. Last month the check engine light was on for random multiple misfires, but I found out the clips for the air intake where gone so I used a deck screw to hold it in place till I could afford a new air intake, which I still can't afford. Too many bills, too many people owe me money, need more time in a day to make more money working more then 2 good jobs.

Just my personal opinion here, but I wouldn't sink a cent onto the car (especially since you don't have $$$ right now) until you can get a diagnosis from a mechanic. Then (and only then) start buying the needed parts and fix the car yourself. Until you know what the problem is, you're probably wasting your money.

Usually when I have car issues I can't fix like when the check engine light came on for the transmission, and the car wouldn't go fast I took it down a back road, pedal to the floor. Took about 2-3 min, and the car was picking up speed, check engine light went out, and I was cruising, issue gone. That happens a lot, but cops are out more then ever even if its not a holiday so its hard to get the car flying again.

You need to understand how serious a problem you have - only car or not. You have already posted on a public forum you have problems and can't do anything to fix it right now. If you continue to drive and have an accident, your butt is in a sling. You will be driving a vehicle you know to be unsafe. Too big a risk for other motorists - what you do to yourself is your business.

Being a good driver is totally irrelevant if your car is accelerating without driver input. Seriously, be responsible and stop driving this thing until you have it professionally fixed.

The throttle sticking issue is no longer present. Also I found out when the traction control kicks in you can then switch to Neutral, and the engine will rev up probably until it blows up if that issue ever happens. When the traction control kicks in the engine won't rev no matter what therefore problem resolved if that happens to anybody. It doesn't take much to make the traction light come on or atleast with my car it doesn't. That light is always on. Hit a small puddle from rain, and the light comes on, engine won't rev, and won't pick up speed no matter if you have the foot to the floor or not.

I was just hoping for some insight on the issue, but guess nobody else had these issues yet. Will take it to a mini dealer sometime, and until then I will find something else to drive or have people drive me around.

So basically you are going to drive it until it dies? The car is clearly putting itself into limp mode for a reason. More than likely there are a number of codes that have been tossed. It needs to go to a mechanic so that it can be properly diagnosed... There is no telling what damage you have caused.

It sounds like your car went into "limp home mode." I would have the problem professionally diagnosed and decide from there what to do. Throwing parts at the problem is not a good idea, and neither is guessing. You cannot live with fluid leaks and serious throttle problems. It is fortunate no one was killed.

Some people will only stop when the car dies or hits an unmovable object

Amazing tale of.....er......stupidness...
almost have several accidents.....then keep going...then check it....then keep going...
one tip...if you wreck you car, you will not have your ride....and be paying $$ to fix another persons.....and if this storycomes out, and you get sued.....you will be a poor person for many years.....very unsafe. Hope that was blunt enough. Hope you don't kill a kid....cause you don't apparently care about yourself....

Hmm... sounds like creative writing to me.

Here's another post from 2003Minicoper:

"I spent $15.00 on a pack of disposable gloves, but returned them cause I'd rather get my hands dirty then waste $15.00 even knowing it was probably 50 pair of gloves. It takes a lot of soap to clean skin, and get rid of the smell, but worth not wasting money on gloves. I was lighting the wood stove tonight 2 nights after changing the filter, and saw a nice flame going by my arm so I must have had some gas I didn't get off, but I can't smell it. "

Funny stuff!

A loose plug or 15$ item turns infos $4500 motor job....or a totaled car.....and another car too....maybe getting sued....so maybe $100k depending on medical bills....
you know the old saying...you can pay a little now or a lot later....
or perhaps the other one....
nothing is as expensive as going cheap.

Why did you not put your car in neutral when the gas pedal stuck?

I agree with other posters... That car should be off the road - and so should you as you clearly don't care about the damage you will cause to other people and their property.

Retarted? Sometimes problems occur, but don't occur again. Had the car looked over by a few mechanics cause the first one said nothing was wrong. The other 2 mechanics said the same thing.

Of course, unless someday money could get people to come back to life after something stupid.
