Catch or rough spot in clutch pedal action

Hey All, 2006 S, six speed. All works well except I have developed a slight catch in the clutch pedal when you let it come off the floor. The pedal just has a little catch about 2-3 inches from the floor, just an annoyance. Has anyone has this problem and what did it turn out to be.

I understand it could be:

the pedal bushings or linkage to the master cylinder
the master cylinder
the slave cylinder
the fork to the TO bearing or
the TO bearing itself.

Any experiences would be greatly appreciated,

thanks YD

I suspect that it is actually the sleeve along which the throw-out bearing rides as it goes in and out. Common problem. $1500 labor to change a $3 part.

TO bearing but you don't pay the $1500 to replace the $3 part. Change your clutch along with it.

Thanks Guys,

Yes, even though my clutch is working perfectly, I'm a clutch technique fanatic, and I'm sure it is barely worn, I would replace it if I was looking at it. Question, what is falling apart in this situation, the sleeve, the grease, the inside of the T.O. bearing where it slides?

I noticed a catch/clunk when pushing down as well.... Then I took a look and noticed that the pedal shaft is hitting a black plastic piece that connect to a black steel tube in the shape of a U. If a push down with a little left to right pressure, there is not catch/clunk. If I apply right to left pressure, the pedal shaft hits the plastic piece.

Any ideas on this?

Thanks,

Parker

check out this thread. It looks like the deal can install some spacers if you are hitting the plastic cylinder:
