Roadtrip tomorrow, help with PS fluid?
I am driving from sd to sac tomorrow and will be around 600 miles. my PS fluid is right at the line on the bottom (so I think more needs to be added). do I need to add more right away or can I just do it when I come back. it's not deathly low since it's right at that line.
anything else I should check for besides oil? thanks

When you have a chance some day after the trip. Check the line from the reservoir to the pump for leaks.
Get a flush and fill every two years to eliminate moisture and keep your pump from working too hard. They are expensive to replace.
Also, there is a "sponge filter" of sorts inside the PS fluid reservoir container. It can actaully get moldy from the water content, eventually messing up your PS fluid. If that happens the whole container would need replacing....ect.
Take an extra belt along if you don't have one

Ok cool. Yea the traffic ended up being nothing on the 5 N, not one car was stopped. this whole carmageddon was definitely made out to be more than it was!! Other than that the car drive up here was pretty smooth, got about 31 mpg (computer calculated) with AC on and avg speed around 70-75. My *** and lower back hurt after the drive though...not the most comfortable seats
I am now up in Newcastle, CA. very small town out in the woods kind of, many ranch houses and a BUNCH of twisties back here with no one on them. Nice solid roads with some bumps in them (tree roots) but not bad enough to make me cringe going over them. they actually make it seem more fun cause the car is constantly bouncing up and down with the tight suspension.
Last night I spent an hour zipping through some of them, soooo fun! we don't have these roads where I live so this was awesome
