Dual gauge cluster fitted to stock MCB 03

Well i just bought a dual gauge cluster from another member here with the intention of installing it into my stock cooper base. i noted that the software index was different between two. i figured i would just plug it in and see what happened. it runs and works fine except for the blinker indicator light and the high beam light... the blinker light on the new gauge was replaced by a blinking battery light, and the high beam was replaced by the oil warning light.

please note that between the dual gauge tach and the single tach, the lights were lighting up in the exact same place in relation to the gauge face.
would the BMW/Mini dealership be willing to fix this (for a cost naturally ) or is this something i'm going to have to re-install the stock tach?

You could see if they will program it for you...$175 or so (educated guess, with no guarentee it will work....also to note, the miles/vin will show a mismatch since that stuff is burned into the chips..trouble if you ever sell it...you must sign a waiver stating miles unknown...pretty big hit depending on the age of the car...if you keep it, no worries.
Is the cluster the right part no#.....look it up to be sure on one of the online services, like real oem to make sure it is and might be made to work..
good luck.

There wouldn't be a programming setting that the dealer can use because it is a nonstandard configuration (dual gauges with a center speedo).

I've seen a few threads where people swapped in the dual gauge and all of them had results like yours ("kinda works"), none with complete success.

I called up the only Minnesota mini dealership and asked them about software updates/re-install. they claimed they didn't have any way of doing that (bs because they service all BMW's and mini's in Minnesota and have the largest mechanics crew in Minnesota.

anyways, I've temporarily switched back to my single gauge until i have time to think of possible solutions. I also have to find the little plastic shroud that goes behind the gauge.
