I'd love to know the secret as well! 18k on my 2010 already... I'd love for it to run that long.

going, and going, and going...

'04 purchased new 10/03. 148k.
The now-known as dreaded Midlands manual 5-speed. I don't race, and have never had any problems with it (knock-knock). Replaced serpentine belt at 90k, Replaced drivers window motor around 50k. Have had to replace thermostat housing twice. (I'll do it myself next time). Alternator just recently replaced. Change oil at 7.5k, regardless of recommended 15.5k. Have always burned mid-grade, rather than premium (salesperson at dealership made the recommendation, at the time of the sale... hmmm?). Changed plugs at 80k, and did it while the head was still warm. Stripped the threads on #2, and had to ream out, and install a sleeve (NOT a heli-coil). Passenger door lock stopped working; had to replace. Drivers door window stopped working (again). Determined the regulator wires had rubbed against each other on one of the wheels, clogging the path with debris, and wearing the cable down to about 2 threads. Door apart now, and preparing to order regulator. Wondering if the 'replacement' regulator(s) are as good as genuine Mini? It lasted 7 years, if the next lasts 7, I'll be happy. Also wondering how long I can expect that clutch to last.

Overall experience:
Happy as a clam. But, I've been able to do some of the maintenance (oil changes, brakes, plugs, window motors, door locks) myself. If you totally rely on a dealership, the pride in driving a Mini can be expensive.

Just hit 90,000 on my '03 S 6 speed.

It had the replacement flywheel done at like 30k. Other than that routine maintanence nothing truly special.

I change the oil at 5k with synthetic and OEM filter. Installed Mini Madness strut tower plates as preventative measure. Also recently upgraded the coil to MSD version due to the #3 corrosion issue.

No winters / summer tyres only

'03 MCS with 31 000km. which equates to 18 600 miles. Benefits to living in a land with lots of snow and a Mazda B4000 4x4 to deal with the winters in the Great White North. Also, my plans are to keep this car long term, so, often sits inside on those nasty rainy days too!!!

Just hit 98,900 on my '05 JCW MCS this week. No major service issues other than a loose axle nut, chaffed vacuum hose (threw an SES), and now a leaking motor mount (just last night).
