247K and counting

'05 R53 just clicked 247,000 last week. Original clutch, original supercharger, original power steering unit (have cleaned the brushes several times) only on 2nd set of front brake rotors. Biggest issues; broken valve spring, wheel bearing, thermostat and harmonic balancer. LCR bushings next weekend. No plans on ever selling it.

Awesome !

Good to hear about these cars passing the 200,000 mile mark.
How hard is it to clean the brushes in the PSP?

Pull the pump, pop the cover off the electric end, careful, lots of carbon dust. Use cratex (rubberized abrasive stick) or fine sandpaper on end of thin screwdriver to clean commutator brass back to smooth and shiny. Pump works again! Re-builders just toss them when the brushes are worn. Too expensive to replace, impossible to find, so far.
Nice pic. I was 1st place/class 2 in 1979 Baja 1000.

My 06 MCS has 81K on it. Having engine issues right now... compression fine but using oil and they don't know why or where... sigh...

Total Mileage

Winston has 127k+ on him and still going strong. A lot of miles were out on doing the Twisties here in SoMD and the Dragon. No major problems, just the usual brake rotor replacement and the relay that controls the cooling fan. Trake in for a new one, NEVER!! I don't like the looks of the new ones.

105k 2003 picked up as part of the 10/25/2002 shipment. A long and fun life for this Mini. Supercharger changed out about 60k, driver-side door lock now, easy enough to replace. No plans to replace this mini, just drive on.

92k on my 02 R50
34k on my 02 R53
58k on my 87 classic Mini

I think that adds up to 184k altogether.

My '06 R53 is about 13,800. No missing zeros there, bought it in January with ~12,500. Plan on keeping this one a loooong time.

The Black Eyed Pea hit 80k miles this week. Going strong and looking good IMO, although the motor mount sprung a leak. Oh well...
