Wheel Fitment

Im looking for some new wheels and im trying to figure out what i can fit the easiest without drama.. The wheels i have now (Enkei Evo 6) are 17x8 with very small lip (hi offset) and i never liked them from the beginning. Im definitely going the low offset route.

I guess my main question is what offset is best for these cars? Im really leaning toward

C4 Sawblades, or Salad Shooters 17X8.5 usure of specific offset
Rota D2 17x8.5 et 20
Rota IKR 17x9 et35
XXR 962 17x9 or 17x7
Porsche Twist Wheels
Possibly Lotus Elise rear wheels

those are all good wheels for a mini!!! i like the idea of porsche or lotus wheels thatd be sweettt!!!

do you have adjustable coilovers or camber plates? i could be wrong some wheels are different but with offsets into the 20's and low 30s im guessing your going to need the either of those if not both but itll deffinitly look good so dont let me push you away from those. i have +35 wheels and their pretty flush with just lowering springs. keep in mind the wider the wheel the higher offset you should go. if you go +20 17x9 its going to need a lot more camber then a +20 17x7 would. but if you do have coils and camber plates 17x8.5 +30ish would look good you might go through tires alot though lol

if you have no coilovers though id stay around 17x7 +35 or 17x8 +38 or +40 thatll be good fitment, at the same time you wont need to go through tires from all the negative camber a wider less offset wheel would need.

anyone correct me if im wrong. im always ears to learn something new too! im just going from my experience

ps: i have evo's on my nissan 240sx and hated them with a passion. now it has 5zigen fn01rc's 17x9 +20 much better looking!

But in reality im leaning toward the Sawblades since they are by far the cheapest, also ill either stick with the chrome (theyre spotless) or paint them gold

before buying my rpf1's i was looking into diamond racing wheels. they come in different sizes also but they're practically deep dish steelies and they have different styles of them. somewhat cheap too about 75 bucks a wheel depending what you buy. i dont know if your into the steelie look though lol

Yea I'm really digging the steelie look, but not when they weigh almost 30 pounds w/o tires

Are you planning on doing a 5 lug conversion? I would love to do that and throw these wheels on my car:

Those Carrera wheels are sick.

Also I was thinking of getting the twist style wheels in the 4x100 configuration plus I don't have to worry about doing a conversion and getting a non staggered set:

What are your thoughts?

Really you can't wrong with either set! Now I'm looking at BMW wheels.. Really digging the style 32's and the M-Sport wheels as they're significantly cheaper than twists
But what I'm also considering are the ESM 001

I'm no expert, not by any means, but I believe those ESM's will probably run you less than getting a BMW wheel and then having to get adapters (which aren't cheap on their own). I'm not familiar with too many BMW wheels but I was under the impression they had offsets that were a bit too low to run adapters and make it work (this is what I remember from my VW days). Porsche wheels (and Vette wheels) can work b/c they have some offsets in the 50's which play nice with adapters in the 20mm-30mm range, but again you're looking at probably $200-$300 for adapters on top of the cost of wheels.

Now back to those ESM wheels... I really like them. I normally don't like replica companies like them and Rota but that wheel does look really good (and fits well too). There's an R56 running them that looks amazing, there's plenty of pics in the ESM thread on here : https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ly-wheels.html and for $900/set that's tough to beat (I think ESM should pay me for advertising )

I have both corvette wheels (16x8.5) Et32~ and porsche twists (17x7/17x9). Et55. They fit well, but as soon as I put adapters on, they push it out to the point that it's unbearable without 7+ degrees of camber. Same with the vette wheels. when I get home I'll upload some pictures of what the wheels look like on my car and how much they both poke. They both poke around 1-1.5". Shame, I really wanted to run these wheels.

I liked the saw blades, but don't really wanna deal with adapters

If you wanted to try it, though, I have some 4x100 --> corvette + the vette wheels for sale. They may fit different for the mk1 MINIs, because Ray seems to be able to get them to fit. I'll upload pics tonight for sure.
