racing seats in r53 mini cooper
hey everyone, ive been looking into buying some racing seats for the up coming autocross and track day year.
ive been looking into buying the sparco sprint 5 seats both passenger and driver side(my lady likes to roll with me). they have good reviews, theyre approved seats, and are a great value.
the issue is i'm in college so i cant afford to buy a pair of evo 2 seats plus the brackets that bolt into the mini sliders. my budget is about 1000 for seats and brackets.
what im wondering is does anyone know if the sparco evo 2 seat brackets, that bolt into the stock mini slider, work with sparco sprint 5 seats?
mini mania sells the seat brackets and also sell a similiar bracket for the recaro pole position seat. if anyone knows if either of these will work please let me know. or any alternatives i might be able to consider. remember i only have about 1000 to spend.
Thanks,
Aaron

Not trying to cause you cognitive dissonance, but...
I ran this pitch about 8 years ago on Marco (from HMS Motorsport) who could have cheerfully taken my money.
He runs a Cooper S at the track, and sells quality racing stuff - he has a showroom full of racing seats...
He said - spend that money somewhere else, but get a Schroth quick disconnect system. The racing seats will wear you out on daily driving, and you will wear them out too with constant entries and exits for which they are really not designed.
I took that advice, and have never regretted it.
Try a good harness first - trust me!
Cheers,
Charlie

Thanks I might look into that! And possibly a harness bar. The only reason I was looking at seats was because of getting tossed around in these leather ones and I wanted to shed some weight.
That does make sense though with the daily driving it might make me rethink that I'll have to look into some nice harnesses!
